Prize Giving: Sunday afternoon after completion of the Championship.
Medals will be awarded to 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd places in the overall
competition and to the highest points in each section.
Floating Trophies: - 1 st place: IPO 1& 2
- IPO 3 National Champion.
- Best Club Team.
- Best Provincial Team.
- “Tex Kaufman” trophy for best handler and dog
team.
- WUSV Trophy – best novice handler – IPO3
Catering: Will be available throughout the Trial (At the tracking grounds
and at the Stadium).

Thursday 14 th June: 18:30 Dinner, Draw and awards ceremony.
Friday 15 th June: 08:00 Tracking IPO 1/2/3
Saturday 16 th June: 10:00 Obedience IPO 1/2/3
Sunday 17 th June: 08:00 Protection work IPO 1/2/3
Practice Times in Sports Arena:
Prize giving immediately after trial. Times are subject to
change once entries have been finalised.
(Official helpers will be available at times indicated below)
Thursday 14 th June: 10h00 to 13h00 – open practice
14h00 to 17h00 – official helpers available. Note
that IPO3 dogs will not be allowed to practice on our
overseas helper.
Each competitor is allowed 5 minutes obedience & 5 minutes protection work practice
time. Time schedule will be made available once entries have been finalised.
Please note the format for the event:
All tracking will be done on Friday morning.
All obedience will be done on Saturday with IPO3 after lunch
All protection work will be done on Sunday
All protection work will be done in order of de-merit (lowest total score will go first)
IPO 1/2/3 will be separated for protection work.

Additional Information:
• The event will be run according to the WUSV IPO rules as adopted by the GSDF in
March 2012.
• Provincial Teams must be stated by the Provincial Organisation before the entry closing
date. A Provincial team comprises 4 members (with 3 best scores to count)
• Club Teams must be stated by the Club Training Supervisor before the entry closing date.
Only 2 teams per club. (A club Team consists of 2 members)
• The Trial Manager reserves the right to remove a spectator from the venue for disruptive
behaviour or for interfering with the judges/competitors or other spectators.
• Equipment to be used in the trial:
Dumbbells, Timber of regulation weight
Hurdle - Sizes as per rule book. Horizontal slatted timber, solid construction.
A-frame: slatted timber, dimensions as per rule book.
• Any entrant found on the tracking grounds prior to the event will be disqualified.
• Competitors must report to the “check in” 45 minutes before their tracking time.
• Tracking conditions: Ploughed earth – possibly with vegetation growth.
• Competitors must report to the trial manager 15 minutes before their obedience and
protection work times.
• Please give yourself enough time to travel to the tracking grounds, as they will be out of
town. Instructions and directions will be given at the draw.
• Tattoo verification will be done at the completion of each discipline.
The Organisers reserve the right to alter times/venue/officials should it be necessary and in the
interests of the event.

Seminar: 18 th & 19 st June 2012:
Mr Toine Jonkers & Joeri Veth will be conducting a seminar on Monday 18 th and Tuesday 19 th June.
The seminar will cover both practical training on the field as well as theory on training.
Handler & dog numbers will be limited to a maximum of 15. There is unlimited attendance for
individuals without dogs.
Cost: Handler & dog: R 1000
Without dog: R200 per day

Handler Sports Medals 2012:
Any handler who thinks they are eligible for a sports handler award must please submit their
application by not later than the 21 st May 2012 (NO EXCEPTIONS!).

National Team Candidates 2012:
Any potential World Championship entrants must please ensure that their dogs comply with the
veterinary requirements for entry into the European Union. This entails a Rabies Titre Test
certificate (issued by Onderstepoort) as well as de-worming/tick & flea treatment certification. This is
together with their regular vaccination regimen.
It is the handlers’ responsibility to ensure that these documents are obtained timeously - failure to
do so will bar your participation in the World Championships.
“Rabies TitreTests” must be done ASAP and submitted to Onderstepoort timeously. (There can be
a significant delay, especially if the dog requires revaccination & retesting if the antibody levels are
too low) Do not wait until after the National Champs. & Team Selection !!
