Prize Giving: Sunday afternoon after completion <strong>of</strong> the Championship.<br />

Medals will be awarded to 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd places in the overall<br />

competition and to the highest points in each section.<br />

Catering: Will be available throughout the Trial (At the tracking grounds<br />

Friday 15 th June: 08:00 Tracking IPO 1/2/3<br />

Saturday 16 th June: 10:00 Obedience IPO 1/2/3<br />

Sunday 17 th June: 08:00 Protection work IPO 1/2/3<br />

Practice Times in Sports Arena:<br />

Prize giving immediately after trial. Times are subject to<br />

change once entries have been finalised.<br />

(Official helpers will be available at times indicated below)<br />

Thursday 14 th June: 10h00 to 13h00 – open practice<br />

14h00 to 17h00 – <strong>of</strong>ficial helpers available. Note<br />

that IPO3 dogs will not be allowed to practice on our<br />

overseas helper.<br />

Each competitor is allowed 5 minutes obedience & 5 minutes protection work practice<br />

time. Time schedule will be made available once entries have been finalised.<br />

Please note the format for the event:<br />

All tracking will be done on Friday morning.<br />

All obedience will be done on Saturday with IPO3 after lunch<br />

All protection work will be done on Sunday<br />

All protection work will be done in order <strong>of</strong> de-merit (lowest total score will go first)<br />

IPO 1/2/3 will be separated for protection work.


Additional Information:<br />

• The event will be run according to the WUSV IPO rules as adopted by the GSDF in<br />

March 2012.<br />

• Provincial Teams must be stated by the Provincial Organisation before the entry closing<br />

date. A Provincial team comprises 4 members (with 3 best scores to count)<br />

• Club Teams must be stated by the Club Training Supervisor before the entry closing date.<br />

Only 2 teams per club. (A club Team consists <strong>of</strong> 2 members)<br />

• The Trial Manager reserves the right to remove a spectator from the venue for disruptive<br />

behaviour or for interfering with the judges/competitors or other spectators.<br />

• Equipment to be used in the trial:<br />

Dumbbells, Timber <strong>of</strong> regulation weight<br />

Hurdle - Sizes as per rule book. Horizontal slatted timber, solid construction.<br />

A-frame: slatted timber, dimensions as per rule book.<br />

• Any entrant found on the tracking grounds prior to the event will be disqualified.<br />

• Competitors must report to the “check in” 45 minutes before their tracking time.<br />

• Tracking conditions: Ploughed earth – possibly with vegetation growth.<br />

• Competitors must report to the trial manager 15 minutes before their obedience and<br />

protection work times.<br />

• Please give yourself enough time to travel to the tracking grounds, as they will be out <strong>of</strong><br />

town. Instructions and directions will be given at the draw.<br />

• Tattoo verification will be done at the completion <strong>of</strong> each discipline.<br />

The Organisers reserve the right to alter times/venue/<strong>of</strong>ficials should it be necessary and in the<br />

interests <strong>of</strong> the event.<br />

Seminar: 18 th & 19 st June 2012:<br />

Mr Toine Jonkers & Joeri Veth will be conducting a seminar on Monday 18 th and Tuesday 19 th June.<br />

The seminar will cover both practical training on the field as well as theory on training.<br />

Handler & dog numbers will be limited to a maximum <strong>of</strong> 15. There is unlimited attendance for<br />

individuals without dogs.<br />

Cost: Handler & dog: R 1000<br />

Without dog: R200 per day<br />

Handler Sports Medals 2012:<br />

Any handler who thinks they are eligible for a sports handler award must please submit their<br />

application by not later than the 21 st May 2012 (NO EXCEPTIONS!).<br />

<strong>National</strong> Team Candidates 2012:<br />

Any potential World Championship entrants must please ensure that their dogs comply with the<br />

veterinary requirements for entry into the European Union. This entails a Rabies Titre Test<br />

certificate (issued by Onderstepoort) as well as de-worming/tick & flea treatment certification. This is<br />

together with their regular vaccination regimen.<br />

It is the handlers’ responsibility to ensure that these documents are obtained timeously - failure to<br />

do so will bar your participation in the World Championships.<br />

“Rabies TitreTests” must be done ASAP and submitted to Onderstepoort timeously. (There can be<br />

a significant delay, especially if the dog requires revaccination & retesting if the antibody levels are<br />

too low) Do not wait until after the <strong>National</strong> Champs. & Team Selection !!<br />
