de modo que no a todos emociona, el conjunto
valenciano al que nos referimos no
se sabe que tenga ni un solo detractor, tal
es el éxito de los arquitectos, ingenieros
y demás profesionales y artistas que han
aunado la capacidad de crear un arte de
futuro con una estética profundamente universal.
Ese museo arquitectónico, auténtica
ciudad dentro de la propia capital del Turia,
se abre con una enorme zona verde abierta
al visitante de 7.000 metros cuadrados,
llamada L´Umbracle. La variedad de especies
botánicas y su gran cantidad permite
mantenerlas como un constante vergel,
según las estaciones. Se complementa con
el paseo de las Esculturas con sobresalientes
obras. Un magnífico aparcamiento en
los bajos de la zona permite estacionar a
más de 700 vehículos, así como decenas
de caravanas y autobuses, de modo que
visitar esta metrópoli del futuro valenciana
resulta muy sencillo. Lo es también para el
que quiera llegar en el transporte público,
con buenas conexiones, ya sea al centro de
la localidad, como al puerto, a la Albufera y
o otros puntos.
L´Hemisfèric, el ojo de
las maravillas
El primer edificio, abierto al público,
inaugurado el 16 de abril de 1998, fue
L´Hemisfèric que abarca unos 14.000
metros cuadrados y en su exterior evoca
un gran ojo humano. Su pantalla para proyecciones
IMAX lleva a quienes asisten al
espectáculo hasta el centro de la tierra, si
se trata de un filme sobre minas, o hasta
el interior de una momia si de recrear la
cultura egipcia se trata. La gigantesca pantalla
del IMAX, de 900 metros cuadrados,
ofrece espectáculos, visitas al fondo del
mar, recorrido por las galaxias y cuanto se

and underground connections.
L’Hemisferic, the amazing eye
The first of the Valencia Arts and Science
Centre’s four spectacular buildings to be
built, being inaugurated on 16th April,
1998, was the L’Hemisferic. This fantastic
building resembling a human eye covers a
total surface area of 14,000 square metres.
Its gigantic screen, used for projecting
IMAX films, offers spectators, if the subject
of the film is mining, a journey to the centre
of the earth or a journey into the interior of
a Mummy, if the subject of the film is
Egypt. The above-mentioned 900 square
metre screen offers all kinds of spectacles,
an expedition to the bottom of the sea, a trip
through the galaxy as well as many other
thrilling expeditions.
Close to the L’Hemisferic, stands the
breathtaking Queen Sofia Performing Arts
Theatre and the marvellous Prince Phillip
Science Museum designed by the world
