Se realizaron calibraciones para cada tipo de geometría utilizando soluciones estándar de 152 Eu. Los tiempos de contaje oscilaron entre 10000 y 60000 segundos. Los radionucleidos determinados son 137 Cs, 40 K, 226 Ra, 214 Pb, 214 Bi, 232 Th. Radiometría beta Para la determinación de la actividad beta global fue utilizado un detector de centelleo plástico marca LAS - TELECOM con un fondo de 3 cpm. Las muestras de sedimento y biota marina, previamente tratadas y homogenizadas, fueron adaptadas a la geometría específica de contaje (plancheta de 3 cm de diámetro). El equipo fue calibrado con 40 K, utilizando KCl anhidro, elaborando la curva de eficiencia en función de su densidad másica. Los tiempos de contaje oscilaron entre 30 a 120 minutos. Aseguramiento de la calidad Se utilizaron materiales de referencia del OIEA y se participó en ejercicios de intercomparación. El tratamiento estadístico de los resultados fue efectuado según los lineamientos del EURACHEM/ CITAC “Quantifying Uncertainty in Analytical Measurement” (2000). El nivel d e confianza establecido fue del 95% (α = 0,05; k =2). 3. RESULTADOS Y DISCUSIÓN En la Tabla 1 se muestran los resultados de la determinación radioquímica de 137 Cs en aguas de mar en 06 perfiles de muestreo durante el período 1999 – 2000. Los valores reportados se encuentran por debajo de la concentración mínima detectable. En la Tabla 2 se presentan los valores de radiactividad gamma correspondientes a 137 Cs y 40 K en biota marina registrados durante 1999. Los resultados se encuentran cercanos a la concentración mínima detectable para el caso de 137 Cs. La elevada concentración del radionucleido natural 40 K- se debe a que cuenta con una abundancia isotópica de 1,17x10 -4 respecto al potasio estable. En la Tabla 3 se muestran los resultados de la determinación radioquímica de 90 Sr en aguas de mar en 03 perfiles de muestreo, correspondientes al año 2000. Los valores reportados se hallan por debajo de la concentración mínima detectable. En la Tabla 4 se muestran los valores de radiactividad gamma en sedimento marino. Se 349 reportan valores de radionucleidos antropogénicos ( 137 Cs) y radionucleidos naturales ( 40 K, 214 Pb, 214 Bi, 232 Th) para el período 1999 – 2000. En la Tabla 5 se presentan los niveles de actividad beta global equivalente en sedimento marino para los años 1999 y 2000.
