The second semester was closed on May and a long
holiday was initiated by a retreat led by Rev. Fr.
Benno Kikudo, the Parish Priest of Kibaha, in the
Archdiocese of Dar Es Salaam, followed by the
renewal of vows, on the 1 st of June, on the part Brs
Hillary Mushi, Festo Ndiu and Constantine Mlewa,
renewing their commitment to Jesus through the
Order of St Augustine.
On the 11 th of June a delegate from the delegation
of Kenya Fr Robert Karanja visited the community in
order to have a meeting with the Delegate Superior
on the issue of novitiate and it seems that
everything was finalized well.
On the 21 st of June the community had a moment of
farewell to our pre-novices Afrates Luambano and
Godvolker Mwinuka who travelled to Mwanza for
their novitiate year.
Regarding pastoral work, the brothers are still
working in the outstations of Kilakale and Bwawani.
The Outstation of Bwawani is still going on with the
construction of the church of the outstation. The
outstation of Kilakale are now using the new church
built by the help of IQUITANZ.
Mavurunza. The brothers of the community of St.
Monica-Mavurunza are going well with their
pastoral activities, attending the two parishes of the
Immaculate Conception-Mavurunza and St.
Augustine-Temboni. On the 8 th of January 2011 the
Immaculate Conception Parish-Mavurunza celebrated
its tenth anniversary since it was inaugurated. The
Parish has inaugurated a new outstation with the
name St. Rita of Cascia some few kilometres from
Mavurunza parish. The construction of the Youth

Centre for Mavurunza Parish is going well though
much is left to be done.
St. Augustine-Temboni Parish is finalizing the
construction of its church building. For the moment
the Parish has started the second phase of making the
benches for the new church. The idea is to finish the
work of putting benches and then to start the
construction of the house for the priests. The
Outstation of St. Theresa of Child Jesus-Nzasa is
aspiring to become a Parish and so they have started
constructing the house of the priests as the first step
towards this goal. They are now about to begin the
roofing of the house. The young outstation of St.
Nicholas of Tolentine-Msingwa is also proceeding well.
Mwanza. This year the Parish of St. Augustine
Mkolani-Mwanza was one of the few parishes which
were selected to receive the New Archbishop of the
Archdiocese of Mwanza Jude Thaddeus Ruwa’ichi
before his entrance in the Cathedral.
The community has been busy preparing itself for
the novitiate program which will be realized there
up to the time the new novitiate house is
constructed. Some minor modifications and changes
have already been done and we hope that it will be
as planned. The novitiate will receive also those
novices from the Delegation of Kenya This common
novitiate is expected to begin on 1 st July 2011.
The work of construction is going on well in the
Parish of St. Augustine-Mkolani, especially in its
outstations. The Outstation of St. Isidory - Bulale has
finished the work of expansion of the church.
IQUITANZ is supporting the projects in the parish.
The same for Lwanhima now they have a beautiful
chapel. The outstation of Sahwa is
a bit behind in the construction
for it is still laying the foundation
and the pillars. Lwanhima and
Bulale are to work hard still to
prepare chairs.
In the month of June Fr. Msigala
had his vacation in order to have
full time with novitiate activities
because he is the novice master. Fr.
Urick Kinyero is now completing his
university study while Xavery and
Ignas continue with their studies.
All these are preparing themselves
for the school being constructed in
Dar Es Salaam.
