PARA CALIFICAR COMO ANTIOXIDANT<br />
SUPERFOOD<br />
Su producto puede calificar si contribuye con al menos<br />
20% de la ingesta diaria publicada (PDI) en al menos una<br />
subclase de estos antioxidantes y cumple o supera el<br />
nivel promedio reportado por la USDA o una investigación<br />

NIVELES DE INGESTA DIARIA PUBLICADOS (PDI)<br />
La ingesta diaria recomendada y establecida por el<br />
gobierno (RDI), de vitaminas, minerales y otros nutrientes<br />
ha sido una gran ayuda para orientar a los consumidores<br />
hacia el logro de sus metas de ingesta diaria de<br />
alimentos. Sin embargo, los valores de RDI aún no han<br />
sido establecidos para estas subclases de antioxidantes.<br />
A pesar de que la información sobre las propiedades<br />
saludables de los antioxidantes ha estado disponible<br />
durante años, los consumidores todavía no tienen<br />
ningún punto de referencia para guiar sus elecciones<br />

OPORTUNIDADES DE DOBLE CERTIFICACIÓN<br />
En parte, las plantas producen antioxidantes como<br />
parte de sus defensas naturales contra insectos y<br />
enfermedades. Como resultado, los alimentos producidos<br />
orgánicamente o con mínimo uso de pesticidas pueden<br />
tener niveles más altos de antioxidantes. Una doble<br />
