Airport operates daily with domestic and
international arrivals and departures.
• Playa del Carmen: The center of the
Mayan Riviera, located an hour away
from the Cancun International Airport.
Playa also has a runway for small craft

where direct flights from Cancun and
other major cities of the country

Temperatura promedio: 26°C. En verano
(abril-octubre) la temperatura máxima
es de 36°C y en invierno (noviembremarzo)
la mínima es de 18°C. Cancún y la
Riviera Maya tienen 253 días de sol al año.
Comunicaciones
Las principales áreas turísticas cuentan
con todas las facilidades como servicio
de fax e internet, telefonía con tarjetas
de crédito o de prepago y renta
de telefonía celular.
• Teléfonos Celulares: Si necesita usar
su celular, pregunte en su compañía de
servicio si hay empresas compatibles en
México. Para utilización local hay renta
de celulares por día. Su representante
de agencia de viajes lo puede asesorar.

o internacionales: Para marcar al
extranjero desde México, la clave de

summertime (April - October) the maximum
high is 36°C (97°F) and during winter
(November - March) the minimum low
is 18°C (64°F). Cancun and the Mayan
Riviera are sunny 253 days a year.
Communications
The main tourist areas have all the facilities,
such as fax and internet service, telephone
services with pre-paid cards or credit cards,
and cellular telephone rental.
• Cellphones: If you need to use your
cell phone, you must ask your service
provider if there are compatible companies
in Mexico, which can provide you service.
There are cell phones for rent per day
for local use. Ask your travel agency
representative; they can help you.
• Telephones. National and
International Calls: To dial internationally
from Mexico, the access code is 001
(for the US and Canada) or 00 (for the
rest of the world) + country code + phone
number you wish to call.The hotel operator
can help you and on public phones, you
will find precise instructions for calling
collect or dialing with a phone card.
Money / Exchange rate
The peso is the official currency.
There are automated teller machines
and money exchange offices in the
shopping malls in Cancun’s hotel zone.
Most of the shops accept American
bancos: 9:00 a 16:00 hrs. Casas de cambio:

Electricidad
110 voltios. Generalmente los hoteles
cuentan con inversores de voltaje para

Idiomas
El idioma oficial es el español.
En la industria turística se habla

y alemán. Una parte de la población

Some sockets do not accept polarized,
or three-prone, plugs, which is why it is

Six hours earlier than Greenwich Mean
Time. Daylight Savings Time begins on
the first Sunday of April and ends on
the last Sunday in October.
Languages
The official language is Spanish. In the
tourist industry, English, French, Italian,
and German are also spoken.
Part of the local indigenous population
still speaks Mayan language.
Tips
One or two dollars per suitcase
carried, and 10-15% of the total
bill in restaurants and bars.
