¿QUÉ ES CVIDA
Es una asociación de entidades y empresas que desarrollan su actividad
en el sector sociosanitario. Organizaciones donde la persona ocupa el
centro de la actividad de innovación, como usuario de las tecnologías para
la salud y el bienestar y de los servicios asociados a ellas. Se trata de un
sector emergente, de gran valor estratégico, pues conecta intereses sociales
y económicos.
¿CÓMO SURGE ESTA INICIATIVA
Nace a partir del Plan de Impulso del Sector Sociosanitario promovido por
la Conselleria de Empresa, Universidad y Ciencia de la Generalitat Valenciana
en el que el Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV) desempeñó las
tareas de secretaría

representación de todos
los agentes del sector. Este documento de consenso fue presentado
públicamente el 21 de julio de 2005. Uno de los resultados de este impulso
es la Asociación CVIDA, que se crea en noviembre de 2006.
¿QUÉ ACTIVIDADES DESARROLLA
Yo recomiendo visitar el portal de internet www.cvida.com si se quiere
tener una visión completa de las distintas áreas de actividad: la actividad
de la asociación, el portal comercial CVIDA, el Sistema de Inteligencia
Competitiva CVIDA, que es una evolución del concepto de observatorio,
y el aula CVIDA, entre otras. Desde distintos ámbitos y de forma estratégica
se trabaja para promover la competitividad y el desarrollo del sector
sociosanitario generando conocimientos sobre mercados, tecnologías y
calidad de los productos y servicios. Acabamos de firmar un convenio
marco con ORPROTEC que va a posibilitar un incremento notable del
interés del certamen para profesionales, técnicos y prescriptores. También
destacaría la importancia de la exposición “Cuidamos tu calidad de vida”,
que se inaugurará en el Museo Príncipe Felipe en otoño, y que presentará
la actividad del sector de una manera muy clara y atractiva.

¿QUÉ IMPORTANCIA TIENE LA PRESENCIA, POR PRIMERA VEZ, DE LA ADMINISTRACIÓN EN LA FERIA
Desde mi punto de vista que, en un foro sobre ortopedia en el que se
encuentran todos los agentes implicados, se incluya a la administración,
supone ocupar un hueco que hasta ahora se venía produciendo. Aunque
la feria sea un evento de los fabricantes principalmente, no tenía mucho
sentido olvidar a quién es el principal financiador de los productos.

¿QUÉ NOVEDADES VA A INTRODUCIR ESTA PARTICIPACIÓN EN LA PRÓXIMA EDICIÓN
Esta participación debe suponer que la administración, en su múltiple
función de financiación, ordenación y control de la prestación ortoprotésica,
colabore y estimule para que sea más eficiente y de mayor calidad. Dicho
de otra forma, instar a fabricantes, distribuidores y técnicos para el
desarrollo de una prestación de más calidad con el incremento en la
inversión consecuente por parte del sistema público.
DESDE SU PERSPECTIVA, ¿CUÁLES SON LOS FACTORES CLAVE PARA EL FUTURO DEL SECTOR
La inversión en I+D es fundamental, pero si no va acompañada de medidas
que eviten las copias, este factor puede peligrar. En cuanto a los técnicos,
creo deberían defender más la profesionalización del sector y menos el
aspecto comercial, en caso contrario no habrá evolución por la falta de
confianza. Por último, la administración debería apostar por un mayor
nivel de cobertura asistencial de prestación incluyendo las nuevas tecnologías
que se desarrollan, pero con garantías reales de eficiencia y control en
defensa de los usuarios.
¿A QUÉ DEBEN PRESTAR ATENCIÓN LAS EMPRESAS Y LOS PROFESIONALES
Una feria es el lugar más idóneo para contrastar la situación del mercado
y conocer la posible evolución del mismo, pero para ello debe poder oirse
a todos los implicados en él. Por ello ORPROTEC 2007 puede ser un marco
ideal para pulsar lo que piensan no sólo fabricantes, distribuidores y
técnicos, sino también al resto de interlocutores como son usuarios,
prescriptores o administración.

HOW DID IT COME INTO BEING
It came about as a result of a Plan for the Promotion of the Social and Health Sector
launched by the Department for Business, University and Science of the Generalitat
Valenciana (Valencian Regional Government) in which the IBV (Institute of
Biomechanics of Valencia) performed the functions of technical secretariat. It involved
around 100 organisations from the Valencian Region and represented all agents in
the sector. The consensual document was made public on 21st July 2005. One of the
results was CVIDA, founded in November 2006.
WHAT ACTIVITIES DOES IT DEVELOP
For an overview of its fields of action, I recommend visiting www.cvida.com. These
consist of the association’s activity, the CVIDA commercial portal, the CVIDA Competitive
Intelligence System, which is a development of the concept of the observatory, and
the CVIDA classroom, among others. We are working strategically from various spheres
with a view to fostering competitiveness and the development of the social welfare
and health sector by generating know-how and expertise in markets, technologies
and quality of products and services. We have just signed an outline agreement with
ORPROTEC that will provide the fair with many points of interest for professionals,
experts and specifiers.

I believe that it fills an existing gap. We are now taking our place alongside all
other agents involved in Orthopaedics. Even though the fair is mainly addressed
to manufacturers, we should not forget who is the main source of funding for
their products.

WHAT NEW FEATURES DO YOU THINK YOUR PARTICIPATION WILL ADD TO THE UPCOMING EVENT
It means that the public administration, which plays a major role in funding, organising
and controlling orthotics and prosthetics supplies, is lending its collaboration and
support to the fair, helping it increase its reach and raise its level of quality. In other
words, to encourage manufacturers, distributors and experts to develop a higher
quality service, something that is bound to bring a further increase in public investment.
WHAT ARE THE KEY FACTORS FOR THE FUTURE OF THIS SECTOR
Investment in R&D is paramount, but it must be accompanied by the enforcement of
measures to prevent piracy and copying. As far as orthotists and prosthetists are
concerned, I believe that they should put more emphasis on defending the greater
professionalism of the sector and less on merely commercial aspects. Otherwise,
progress will grind to a halt due to lack of trust. Finally, public organisations must
provide better coverage in the supply of services including new technologies currently
being developed, but only when they can give real guarantees of efficiency and control
for the defence of users.
WHAT ASPECTS SHOULD COMPANIES AND PROFESSIONALS FOCUS ON
A fair is the perfect place to assess the situation of the market and to check its potential
evolution. But to achieve that, it is necessary to listen to all the agents involved. That is
why ORPROTEC 2007 is the ideal context to gauge, not only what manufacturers, distributors
and experts think, but also all other agents: users, specifiers and public administration.
