Junto con dicha reunión, Jetro organizó un seminario sobre “Infraestructura de Tecnologías de la Información y el Conocimiento en Chile”, en el cual participaron cerca de 100 representantes del sector público y privado. Asimismo, velamos por dar continuidad a lo encomendado por la Presidenta Michelle Bachelet en estas materias”, subrayó en aquella oportunidad el Subsecretario Huichalaf. La comitiva visitó la nación asiática entre los días 23 y 27 de febrero y estuvo compuesta por el Subsecretario Huichalaf, profesionales de la Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) y representantes de Entel, Telefónica, País Digital, ACTI y Universidad de Chile. La primera jornada de trabajo se centró en un acuerdo entre autoridades para profundizar la mutua cooperación tecnológica. Análisis de las políticas de conectividad con el embajador de Chile en Japón, Patricio Torres; una reunión bilateral con el Viceministro de Coordinación Política de Asuntos Internacionales, Yasuo Sakamoto, y la presentación del estado actual del proceso de implementación de la Televisión Digital en nuestro país, fueron parte de los acercamientos iniciales realizados en la ciudad de Tokio.
