USE AND MAINTENANCE• We recommend that the appliance beswitched on before cooking. Theappliance should be left running for 15minutes after cooking food to ensurethat the contaminated air has been fullyextracted. For smooth running, maintenance of the hood should becarried out diligently, particularly asregards the grease and active carbonfilters.• The grease filters retain greaseparticles suspended in the air and hencecan become blocked depending on thelevel of use of the appliance. To avoidthe risk of possible fire, the filter shouldbe cleaned as detailed below at leastevery two months:- Remove the filters from the hood andwash with a solution of water and neutralliquid detergent to loosen the dirt.- Rinse thoroughly with warm water andleave to dry.- The filters can also be washed indishwashers. After a few washes, colourchanges may be visible on thealuminium panels. This will not constitutea reason for complaint or possible panelreplacement.• Regularly clean any remains of greaseon the fan and other surfaces using acloth dampened with ethyl alcohol ornon-abrasive neutral liquid detergent.• The hood lighting has been designedfor use during cooking and not forgeneral lighting. Prolonged use of thislighting will significantly reduce theaverage lifespan of the lamps.• CONTROLS: Electronic (Fig.18)A= LIGHT button.B= OFF/ LOW SPEED button.C= MEDIUM SPEED button.D= HIGH SPEED button.E= 15 MINUTE AUTO STOP TIMERbutton.F= FILTER SATURATION LIGHT ONbutton. The filters must be washed wheneverthe “filter saturation” light flashes. Whenit lights up but does not flash, the greasefilters must be washed and the carbonfilters replaced (if used in air recirculationmode). Once this step is complete, press the button to activate it again. When the “auto stop timer” function isswitched on, the hood continues tooperate at the selected speed for afurther 15 minutes.• The active carbon filters are used topurify recirculating air. These filters arenot washable or recyclable and must bereplaced at least every four months.Active carbon saturation depends onthe level of use of the appliance, thetype of kitchen and on how often thegrease filter is cleaned.12
