happy to start working here.<br />
E: The Women’s Shoes Department<br />
Manager is having a meeting right now,<br />
so I’ll show you around the store. Are<br />
you ready for a guided tour?<br />
A: Sure. Let’s go!<br />
E: This is the Home Appliances<br />
Department. I’m a sales employee,<br />
and I started working here 10 years<br />
ago. The Electronics and Computers<br />
Department is over here, and the<br />
Movies, Music and Games Department<br />
is right there.<br />
A: Wow, this is a big store!<br />
E: Yes, and this is just the first floor!<br />
Let’s go up to the second floor. Here<br />
we are. That’s the Women’s Shoes<br />
Department over there, where you’ll<br />
start today.<br />
Tom: Oh, how nice!<br />
E: Hi, Tom. This is Alyson Miranda.<br />

My name’s Thomas Roberts, but<br />
everybody calls me Tom.<br />
A: Nice to meet you, Tom.<br />
T: Nice to meet you too. I’m the<br />
Men’s Clothing Department Manager.<br />
What’s your Department?<br />
A: Oh, you’re a manager... that’s an<br />
important job! I’m a sales employee<br />
at the Women’s Shoes Department.<br />
T: That’s great! It’s right over there.<br />
Are you happy to start working here?<br />
A: Yes, of course, I’m very happy and,<br />
besides, it’s very near my house.<br />
T: Oh, yeah? Where do you live?<br />
A: I live near Southside Park.<br />
T: I live very near the park too! What<br />
a small world!<br />
A: I can’t believe it. It is a small<br />
world. I live with my parents and my<br />
son, Charlie. He’s 4.<br />
T: Who would’ve guessed that! So<br />
young and yet you have a child!<br />
A: Well, tomorrow’s my 22 nd birthday.<br />
T: You’re kidding! Tomorrow’s my<br />
birthday too! We could get together and<br />
celebrate both birthdays after work. Then<br />
you can meet some of your co-workers.<br />
