AGPS during anemergency callWhen you make an emergency call, yourphone can use Assisted Global PositioningSystem (AGPS) satellite signals to tell the emergencyresponse center your approximate location. The AGPS feature has limitations, so always tell theemergency response center your best knowledge ofyour location. Remain on the phone for as long as theemergency response center instructs you.AGPS might not work for emergency calls:• Your phone’s AGPS feature must be working(see page 35 for how to improve accuracy).• Your local emergency response center mightnot process AGPS location information. Fordetails, contact your local authorities. For best results:• Go outside and away from undergroundlocations, covered vehicles, structures withmetal or concrete roofs, tall buildings, andfoliage. Indoor performance might improve ifyou move closer to windows, but somewindow sun shielding films can block satellitesignals.• Move away from radios, entertainmentequipment, and other electronic devices thatmight interfere with or block AGPS satellitesignals. If your phone cannot find strong AGPS satellitesignals, the location of the nearest cell tower incontact with your phone is automatically provided tothe emergency response center.calls45
