Dr. Waeber earned his medical degree from University of Geneva Schoolof Medicine. His postdoctoral training focused on hypertension and nephrology atuniversity medical centers in Switzerland and the United States.Prof. B. WaeberDr. Waeber has been a member of the Council of the European Society of Hypertensionfrom 1991 to 1999 and belongs to numerous other societies that concentrate onresearch and education in hypertension and cardiovascular disease. He also serveson the editorial boards of nine journals dealing with hypertension, cardiology, drugtherapy, and internal medicine.He has been National Coordinator of the HOT study in Swizterland, a main investigatorof the HOT substudy on compliance, and is a member of the Safety MonitoringCommittee of the INSIGHT study. Dr B. Waeber is currently member of the Committeeof the Working Group on Arterial Structure and Function of the European Society ofHypertension as well as a member of the Committee of the Working Group onAmbulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring of the same Society.
