Por ejemplo, Clark et al. (1984)menciona haber observado un grupo <strong>de</strong> 12 individuoscerca <strong>de</strong>l final este <strong>de</strong>l Estrecho <strong>de</strong> Magallanes, enfebrero <strong>de</strong> 1984. Luego, en Clark et al. (1992), elmismo autor cit<strong>and</strong>o a Clark et al. (1984), mencionanlos mismos individuos observados cerca <strong>de</strong>l final oeste<strong>de</strong>l Estrecho <strong>de</strong> Magallanes, en enero <strong>de</strong> 1984. Alparecer, por su itinerario, es más probable que elregistro ocurrió en febrero y cerca <strong>de</strong>l final oeste, <strong>de</strong>lEstrecho <strong>de</strong> Magallanes. La mayor cantidad <strong>de</strong>individuos ha sido reportada entre finales <strong>de</strong> diciembrey finales <strong>de</strong> febrero (Clark et al. 1984, 1992) los otrosmeses para los cuales hay observaciones y reportes esprincipalmente <strong>de</strong> individuos solitarios.Marchant &Higgins (1990) y Brooke (2004) dan las fechas <strong>de</strong>épocas reproductivas incluyendo <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> la llegada asitios <strong>de</strong> nidificación a la salida <strong>de</strong> los pichones <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong>sep.- oct a abr.- may. Todas nuestras observacionesestan <strong>de</strong>ntro <strong>de</strong> estas fechas, pero creemos que se trata<strong>de</strong> individuos no reproductores, ya sea individuos muyjóvenes, muy viejos o sin parejas. Esto <strong>de</strong>bido a labaja cantidad <strong>de</strong> registros e individuos. Nuestros datosy evi<strong>de</strong>ncias acumulados por un periodo <strong>de</strong> mas <strong>de</strong>cuatro años, más los datos recopilados <strong>de</strong> la literatura,indican que entre noviembre y abril esta especie es unvisitante regular pero escaso en la zona austral <strong>de</strong> Chile.Los registros por el Océano Pacífico, siendo estos losprimeros registros para el Pacífico Sur, mas al norte<strong>de</strong> los 50 o LS (ver Cuadro 1) pue<strong>de</strong>n tratarse <strong>de</strong> casosacci<strong>de</strong>ntales, pero cabe <strong>de</strong>stacar que su presencia enalgunas áreas haya pasado inadvertida.AGRADECIMIENTOSSe le agra<strong>de</strong>ce a la tripulación <strong>de</strong> CrucerosAustralis y M/S Nordnorge por su ayuda logísticaen los diferentes viajes, también se agra<strong>de</strong>ce aFantástico Sur Birding por la oportunidad <strong>de</strong> hacervarios <strong>de</strong> estos viajes.
