Numerical modelling of combustion processes in power steamgenerators, type 1B-365-139, № 4 in TPP ‘Ruse-Iztok’SummaryPhD thesis presents some basic relationships between the two approaches -conducting full-scale tests and mathematical modeling in combustion techniques andtechnologies through the application of computational fluid mechanics. Examples are givento illustrate how measurements and theoretical development of certain technical issuescomplement each other. Clarifies how the modeling can be used to study combinedphysicochemical processes and increase understanding of the technical systems andprocesses.The object is the boiler type 1B-365-139, on which are applied both methods ofstudy. This boiler is in operation (with turbine with power 110 MW) since 1971 in TPP‘Ruse – Iztok’ and is specified as a block № 4 in the plant.Object of this thesis is the study, analysis and proposals for improving conditionsof the combustion process in the boiler type 1B-365-139, № 4 in TPP ‘Ruse-Iztok’ usingfull-scale tests and numerical modelling.32
