ACERA has a new Webinar
Cycle: Energy Poverty was
the starting point
With the intention of fulfilling an informative role and opening the debate
on the relevant topics of the industry, ACERA has developed a new Cycle
of Webinars that began with the event "Energy Poverty: A reality and
challenge that has made the health crisis evident", which featured a
presentation by the Economic Affairs Officer of the Division of Natural
Resources of ECLAC, Rubén Contreras, who referred to the Latin American
scenario and how the pandemic has impacted poverty rates.
The conversation that followed the central presentation was attended by
the Mayor of the I. Municipality of Renca, Claudio Castro, the Leader of the
Energy Inclusion Program, Rubén Méndez, the Manager of the Forestry
Institute of Los Ríos, Alejandra Schueftan, and the Coordinator of the
Energy Poverty Network, Anahí Urquiza. In addition to the moderation of
the ACERA Councillor and Sustainability Manager of The Wind
Consortium, Carola Venegas, who commented that "this initiative allows
us to make visible the great concept of energy poverty, which
encompasses elements that are believed to have wide coverage and are
solved. These problems require a public approach, but technology and
renewable energy can also play a key role in closing these gaps."
With this initiative, which has the collaboration of Marca Chile, ACERA
seeks to be a contribution in keeping alive important subjects of the new
reality facing the industry, in order to more strongly promote the
renewable, climate change and energy poverty issues, which take on such
importance during the global health crisis.
