Primeros añosCuando comienzan a introducirse en el mundo de lamoda, el movimiento hippie seguía siendo el estilo afinales de la década de 1960 en Londres, pero esto noinspiró a Westwood y McLaren, sino que estabanmás interesados en la rebelión y, especialmente, en lamúsica, la ropa y los recuerdos de la década de 1950.Por lo tanto, en 1971, abren su boutique “Let ItRock” (“Déjalo rockear”) en 430 King 's Road,Londres.Sin embargo, la tienda iba cambiando de nombre enbase a las colecciones que los diseñadores lanzaban, demanera que, en 1972, se centraron en la ropa demotorista, las cremalleras y el cuero. La boutique fuerenombrada con una calavera y tibias cruzadas y pasóa llamarse “Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die”(“Demasiado rápido para vivir, demasiado joven paramorir”). Vivienne y Malcolm comenzaron a diseñarcamisetas con mensajes provocativos y rebeldes queconducían a su enjuiciamiento bajo las leyes deobscenidad; de modo que, su reacción fue cambiar elnombre de la tienda una vez más y producir imágenesaún más groseras. Por lo cual, en 1974, la boutiquepasó a llamarse “Sex” (“Sexo”), denominada como unatienda "diferente a cualquier otra cosa que sucedieraen Inglaterra en ese momento" con el eslogan "ropade goma para la oficina".Luego, en 1976, el sencillo “God Save the Queen” deSex Pistols, dirigido por McLaren, llegó al número unoy la BBC le negó el tiempo de emisión. Por esta razón,la boutique reabrió como “Seditionaries” (“Sediciosos”),transformando las correas y cremalleras del oscurofetichismo sexual en moda e inspirando la estética punk.Sus radicales creaciones anarquistas y mentes progresivaspara su época, era lo que los distinguía como losfundadores del estilo punk londinense y la meca de laantimoda. Por ende, a comienzos de los años 80, latienda fue remodelada y rebautizada como “World 'sEnd” (“Fin del mundo”), el nombre que todavía se usaen la actualidad.
