EL ARCHIVO README (LEAME)<br />
El DVD-ROM del juego Test Drive® Unlimited incluye un archivo Readme (Léame)<br />
que explica cómo usar el software y proporciona información actualizada acerca<br />
del juego. Te recomendamos que dediques el tiempo necesario para leer esta<br />
información y así poder beneficiarte de las mejoras realizadas tras la publicación<br />
del manual. Para acceder a este archivo, haz clic en el botón Inicio de la barra<br />
de tareas de Windows®, luego haz clic en Programas/Atari/Test Drive<br />
Unlimited/Documentation/Readme.txt.<br />
INSTALACION<br />
1. Inicia Windows® 2000SP2/XP. Cierra todas las aplicaciones que se estén<br />
ejecutando.<br />
2. Introduce el disco de instalación DVD-ROM de Test Drive® Unlimited en el<br />
lector de DVD.<br />
3. Si la función de reproducción automática está activada, aparecerá la pantalla<br />
inicial. Si la reproducción automática no está activada o si la instalación no<br />
comienza automáticamente, haz clic en el botón Inicio de barra de tareas de<br />
Windows®, luego en Ejecutar. Escribe D:\Setup y haz clic en Aceptar.<br />
Nota: Si el lector de DVD está asignado a otra letra que no es D, usa esa letra.<br />
4. Sigue el resto de las instrucciones en la pantalla para terminar la instalación<br />
de Test Drive® Unlimited. La instalación de Test Drive® Unlimited requiere un<br />
código clave que se encuentra en la parte exterior del soporte del disco.<br />
5. Tras completar la instalación, haz clic en el botón Inicio de la barra de tareas<br />
de Windows® y elige Programas/Atari/Test Drive® Unlimited/Start Test<br />
Drive® Unlimited para comenzar el juego.<br />
Nota: Para jugar, debes dejar el DVD del juego Test Drive® Unlimited en el<br />
lector de DVD.<br />
Instalación de DirectX®<br />
Test Drive® Unlimited requiere DirectX® 9.0c o una versión posterior para<br />
funcionar. Si no tienes DirectX® 9.0c o una versión posterior instalada, haz clic<br />
en "Sí” para aceptar las condiciones del contrato de la licencia de DirectX®<br />
9.0c. La instalación de DirectX® 9.0c comenzará automáticamente.<br />

Emisoras de radio<br />
Puedes crear hasta 4 emisoras de radio por cada perfil.<br />
La carpeta principal debe crearse en el perfil del usuario: “Mis Documentos\Test<br />
Drive Unlimited\savegame\PROFILE_NAME\Radio”.<br />
En ella, puedes crear hasta 4 carpetas (el nombre de la carpeta será el nombre<br />
de la emisora de radio).<br />
Aquí es donde puedes editar las pistas de la emisora. Se permite cuatro tipos<br />
de archivos:<br />
- Archivos de sonido MP3.<br />
- Archivos de lista de reproducción M3U. El archivo M3U debe crearse en esta<br />
carpeta, o no funcionará. El archivo no funcionará en el juego si se copia<br />
desde otra ubicación a esta carpeta.<br />
- Accesos directos a archivos de sonido MP3.<br />
- Accesos directos a archivos de lista de reproducción M3U.<br />
Aviso: Todos los archivos de las carpetas de perfil serán borrados cuando<br />
borres el perfil.<br />
CHRONOPACK<br />
K Iniciar el ChronoPack para un nuevo control de rendimiento.<br />
CONDUCCIÓN ASISTIDA<br />
D Cambiar el nivel de control de tracción.<br />
JUGADORES DE CARRERA LIBRE<br />
F Mostrar el menú de jugadores de carrera libre.<br />
6 En el nombre de un jugador: Invitar a un jugador a quedarse en el<br />
grupo para una sesión de carrera libre (para evitar perderse).<br />
6 En la función AISLAR: Cuando los jugadores están agrupados, esta<br />
función los aísla de la comunidad en línea. Así, este grupo no se<br />
encontrará con otros jugadores.<br />
MODIFICACIÓN DE LA CONFIGURACIÓN DE LOS CONTROLES DE TEST DRIVE<br />
UNLIMITED:<br />
Para configurar el volante, selecciona primero "Volante", en el menú Opciones.<br />
Después, selecciona "Acciones" y haz clic en la opción que desees modificar.<br />
Atención: Cuando vayas a cambiar la configuración, los mandos deben estar en<br />
posición neutral.<br />
GUARDAR<br />
Test Drive Unlimited utiliza la función de guardado automático. La partida se<br />
guarda cada vez que se produce un cambio en los progresos.<br />
MULTIJUGADOR<br />
En línea o desconectado…<br />
Según cual sea tu estado, el modo "En línea" Multijugador o el modo<br />
"Desconectado" Individual, ciertas características o modos de juego de Test<br />
Drive Unlimited cambiarán. Los modos Club, Drive-In y Multijugador solo<br />
funcionan cuando estás en línea. Todos los jugadores pueden acceder a los<br />
retos personalizados en el modo Multijugador.<br />
En el modo Individual, puedes encontrarte con adversarios como cuando juegas<br />
en línea, solo que dichos adversarios serán "Bots" (jugadores IA).<br />
OPTIMIZAR TU<br />
EXPERIENCIA EN LINEA<br />
Reto instantáneo: Cuando retas a alguien en concreto (o eres retado por<br />
alguien específico). Si otros jugadores están conectados contigo, también<br />
participarán del reto instantáneo (hasta 8 jugadores), lo que significa que<br />
puedes controlar quién participa.<br />
Reto multijugador: Si creas una partida, puedes expulsar a quien quieras del<br />
punto de encuentro antes de comenzar la carrera y controlar también quién<br />
participa.<br />
Carrera libre: En este modo puedes escoger a 7 amigos y conducir con ellos<br />
libremente. No puedes expulsar a nadie de una Carrera libre, pero puedes<br />
silenciarlos. Además, los únicos nombres de jugadores que aparecen en tu<br />
pantalla o en tu mapa son los de tus amigos y los de los 7 jugadores en tu zona<br />
de Carrera libre. Así que si quieres librarte de gente desconocida, todo lo que<br />
tienes que hacer es conducir (o teletransportarte) para alejarte de ellos, en vez<br />
de expulsarlos.<br />
En la Carrera libre, tienes que pensar en términos de discriminación positiva<br />
más que negativa: Tienes que crear tu grupo de amigos si no quieres<br />
encontrarte con desconocidos o con gente que te cae mal.<br />

SÍMBOLOS QUE APARECEN JUNTO AL NOMBRE<br />
DE LOS JUGADORES:<br />
Esta corona aparece junto al nombre de los jugadores que han<br />
completado todos los retos.<br />
Esta corona aparece junto al nombre de los jugadores que han llegado al<br />
nivel Campeón.<br />
El icono de fantasma aparece junto al nombre del jugador cada vez que<br />
su coche no puede sufrir ningún choque. Por ejemplo, si el botón de<br />
“Volver a la carretera” acaba de ser pulsado.<br />
Este símbolo indica que un jugador tiene problemas de conexión. El<br />
vehículo no puede mostrarse bien y puede presentar irregularidades.<br />
Este símbolo indica que el jugador ha puesto la partida en pausa o que ha<br />
abierto el mapa.<br />
Este símbolo indica que el jugador ha jugado en el modo DURO.<br />
HEAHEA! *<br />
Primero, tienes que crear un perfil. Si tienes una conexión a Internet y quieres<br />
jugar en línea, tienes que marcar el icono de GameSpy ID. Introduce tu correo<br />
electrónico y tu contraseña. Si no tienes todavía una cuenta de GameSpy, será<br />
creada automáticamente. Si no marcas el icono de GameSpy ID, jugarás en el<br />
modo desconectado. Puedes crear hasta 8 perfiles.<br />
Atención: Si creas un perfil no conectado, no podrás convertirlo más tarde en<br />
un perfil en línea.<br />
Además, tienes que estar conectado para jugar con tu perfil en línea. Según el<br />
estado de la conexión, conectarse con un servidor de GameSpy puede tardar<br />
hasta 90 segundos. Puedes comenzar una Nueva partida o Continuar una<br />
partida en curso. Si quieres comenzar una nueva partida, primero tienes que<br />
crear un Personaje. Siempre podrás perfeccionarlo más tarde. ¡Sin embargo, el<br />
género del personaje no puede modificarse una vez elegido!<br />
MODO DURO<br />
Tras llegar al nivel Campeón, aparecerá una nueva opción en la pantalla inicial:<br />
Nota: No tendrás que acceder al los desafíos individuales (carrera, tiempo y velocidad)<br />
si entras en el juego en este modo.<br />
El modo Duro está diseñado especialmente para jugarlo con un volante, pero<br />
también funciona con un teclado y otros controladores.<br />
*Bienvenido<br />
Trucos y consejos:<br />
• No te olvides de activar el volante en las opciones de conducción, ni de ajustar<br />
su sensibilidad.<br />
• Ten cuidado: Tu sensación de conducción será diferente, ya que el agarre de<br />
los neumáticos y la distancia de frenado es más realista.<br />
• Recuerda que puedes ajustar el modo de ayudas: Asistido, Deportivo,<br />
Hiperdeportivo y Sin ayudas.<br />
¡Así que vámonos a Hawái y prepárate para unas experiencias alocadas!<br />
Cuando salgas del aeropuerto de Honolulu, alquila un coche y da una vuelta<br />
guiada por el tutorial… ¡y tu GPS!<br />
DONDE ALOJARSE<br />
Una vez hayas encontrado una casa, podrás acceder a una serie de opciones:<br />
Información: Puedes ver todas las CLASIFICACIONES de Test Drive Unlimited<br />
para todos los modos, ver tus trofeos y comprobar tu índice de popularidad.<br />
También puedes obtener las "NOTICIAS" de tus progresos. En el ÁLBUM DE<br />
FOTOS, encontrarás todas las fotos que has hecho y guardado. Puedes<br />
eliminarlas.<br />

Garaje – Aquí puedes examinar los vehículos y acceder a información muy<br />
detallada de cada uno de ellos.<br />
NOTA: El tamaño del garaje determina el número de vehículos que puedes tener.<br />
Cuando el garaje esté lleno, tendrás que comprarte otra casa. Puedes tener<br />
varias casas. Puedes transferir vehículos de un garaje a otro mediante la opción<br />
Lista.<br />
Comerciar: No solo puedes comprar vehículos, también puedes vender los que<br />
ya tienes (en caso de que el garaje esté lleno), examinar el estado de tus<br />
transacciones y comerciar con cualquier jugador del mundo.<br />
Personaje – Cambia las ropas o modifica el aspecto físico del personaje. Para<br />
comprar más accesorios en las tiendas de la isla, tendrás que pagar con<br />
cupones. Para conseguir cupones, tendrás que vencer en algunas misiones.<br />
Nota: Si dejas la casa sin pasar por el garaje, viajarás en el vehículo<br />
seleccionado por defecto.<br />

HAWAII Y LAS ZONAS<br />
CIRCUNDANTES<br />
Para abrir el mapa, pulsa M. Según lo que elijas Reto, Posiciones clave,<br />
Jugadores), podrás usar los diversos Filtros* para aumentar o para reducir<br />
la cantidad de información que aparece en el mapa.<br />
La opción de Favoritos te permitirá ir a un punto específico del mapa. Sin<br />
embargo, esta función no puede llevarte a una parte sin explorar (negra) del<br />
mapa.<br />
Nota: Solo puedes ir directamente a un Reto o a una Posición clave mostrada<br />
en el mapa cuando es una sección explorada (azul) del mapa.<br />
*Filtros : El filtro te permite mostrar u ocultar las ubicaciones disponibles que te interesen,<br />
así como aquellas que han sido desbloqueadas posteriormente. Por defecto, el filtro está<br />
configurado para mostrar todas las ubicaciones disponibles.<br />

realmente especiales. Su disponibilidad y precio<br />
dependen de la oferta y de la demanda. Sin embargo,<br />
es posible "Reservar" un coche que no está en<br />
stock.<br />

Agencia de alquiler de coches<br />
¿No tienes suficientes créditos para el coche que<br />
quieres? Hay varias agencias de alquiler en la isla que te<br />
ofrecen vehículos de diversas categorías en periodos de<br />
30 ó 60 minutos.<br />
Nota: Si abandonas un coche de alquiler (al cambiar de coches en el garaje o durante<br />
una carrera), el coche de alquiler será devuelto instantáneamente a la agencia.<br />
Taller de pintura<br />
¿Es hora de cambiar de color al coche?<br />
Agencia inmobiliaria<br />
A medida que aumenta tu colección de coches,<br />
necesitarás espacio en el garaje para guardarlos todos.<br />
Las agencias inmobiliarias de la isla te ofrecen distintas<br />
casas de diferentes precios. Puedes ver las casas antes<br />
de comprarlas o vender las casas que no necesites.<br />
Tienda de tuning<br />
Tras comprar un vehículo, podrás visitar varias tiendas<br />
de tuning. Una mejora de rendimiento puede darte<br />
ventaja en el rendimiento mecánico. Cada tienda se<br />
especializa en tipos de marcas o partes específicas.<br />
Casa a la venta<br />
Durante la conducción, puede que encuentres una casa<br />
que quieras comprar. Puedes elegir “localizar<br />
inmobiliaria” y seguir el GPS para cerrar el trato.<br />
ACTIVIDADES Y OCIO<br />
Retos:<br />
Algunos desafíos requieren que uses un vehículo específico o que hayas alcanzado<br />
cierto nivel. En los modos Individual, Multijugador y Club, hay varios tipos de retos<br />
disponibles:<br />
Carrera (Individual/Multijugador/Club). Gana el primero en llegar a la<br />
meta. Atención: Antes de empezar, asegúrate de que tu vehículo se<br />
corresponde con el nivel y el grupo requerido.<br />
Velocidad (Individual/Multijugador/Club). Conduce tan rápido como<br />
puedas por los sensores de velocidad. Tu velocidad media determina tu<br />
puntuación. Además, hay retos de velocidad en los que tienes que obtener<br />
la mayor velocidad posible dentro del límite de tiempo.<br />
Tiempo (Individual). Carrera contrarreloj.<br />
Reto personalizado (Individual/Multijugador)<br />
Puedes crear tus propios Retos personalizados mediante el Editor (consulta el menú<br />
Pausa, página 18.<br />
Reto instantáneo (Individual/Multijugador)<br />
Otro jugador acaba de retarte. NOTA: Uno de los jugadores debe poner la línea de<br />
meta antes de comenzar. ¿Serás capaz de llegar a la meta antes que tu<br />
contrincante? Usa la ruta que quieras, pero mantente apartado del tráfico y estate<br />
atento a la policía.<br />
Cuando te encuentres con otros conductores en Carrera libre, hazles ráfagas con los<br />
faros pulsando la tecla Intro para retarlos tú también.<br />
Misiones (Individual)<br />
A la izquierda de la pantalla aparece un indicador que muestra el estado del progreso<br />
de la misión. ¡Cuidado con la policía!<br />

HACER UNA PAUSA<br />
Pulsa P para abrir el menú de pausa.<br />
Fotos<br />
Una vez desbloqueada la opción, puedes usar la función de foto para hacer una<br />
foto. Luego podrás verla en casa en tu Álbum de fotos.<br />
Editor<br />
Usa el editor para crear tus propios retos. ¡Puedes configurar tu carrera con su<br />
propio circuito y reglas específicas!<br />
Favoritos<br />
Puedes marcar cualquier ubicación concreta en el mapa y luego ir directamente<br />
hasta ella.<br />
Opciones<br />
En línea: Configura tus preferencias de juego cuando estés en línea.<br />
Ajustes de juego: Para establecer la Ayuda, Asiento y Apuesta.<br />
Controles: Para modificar las teclas y las opciones de control (durante los<br />
retos no puedes modificar los controles).<br />
Sonido: Accede a la configuración del sonido.<br />
Opciones de visualización: Te permite modificar la configuración del HUD (visor<br />
frontal de datos).<br />
Idioma: Elige el idioma del juego (solo disponible en la pantalla inicial).<br />
Vídeo: Cambia la resolución, la velocidad de actualización, el antialias, el HDR,<br />
el brillo y el nivel de detalle.<br />
Voces: Configura las opciones de las voces de los jugadores.<br />
DURANTE LA CONDUCCION<br />
HUD (VISOR FRONTAL DE<br />

• Indicador de conducción: Evita todo tipo de colisiones,<br />
accidentes y salirte de la carretera. Cuando el indicador esté<br />
vacío, pierdes la carrera.<br />
• Indicador de velocidad: Llega a la velocidad objetivo para ganar<br />
el reto.<br />
• Barra de la policía: Aparece cuando se observa una<br />
infracción de tráfico. Las tres matrículas de la policía<br />
representan cuántos coches patrulla te persiguen. Los<br />
cuatro símbolos de flecha a la derecha de la barra de la<br />
policía indican la posición de la policía en relación a tu<br />
coche. Cuanto más cerca esté el cochecito bajo las<br />
matrículas, más intensa será la persecución de la policía.<br />
Si se aleja, significa que la ley se da por vencida.<br />

1- GPS - Puedes usarlo para ver sitios clave, seguir una ruta específica y<br />
obtener una amplia variedad de información. También te puede decir, en<br />
tiempo real, la distancia que falta hasta llegar a un destino en concreto.<br />

Uno muestra la velocidad del vehículo (MPH) y el otro las revoluciones por<br />
minuto del motor (RPM).<br />

NECESITAS UN VEHICULO?<br />
Las diversas exposiciones de Hawái tienen una gran cantidad de vehículos en<br />
oferta. Cuando seleccionas un coche o una moto, puedes examinar su registro<br />
de rendimiento o incluso dar un corto paseo de prueba para poder tomar una<br />
decisión bien informada sobre el vehículo.<br />
Cuando estás comprando...<br />
Puedes elegir el modelo de llantas, el color de la pintura y el acabado de la<br />
tapicería. Luego tan solo queda pagar por ello...<br />
Mejoras y reventa del vehículo<br />
Tras comprar un vehículo, podrás visitar varias tiendas de tuning de alto<br />
rendimiento. Te permitirán mejorar su rendimiento mecánico. Cada tienda se<br />
especializa en tipos de marcas o repuestos.<br />
Puedes vender tu vehículo desde casa con la opción Comerciar.<br />
Nota: Cualquier mejora realizada al vehículo es definitiva y, en algunos casos,<br />
puede poner al vehículo en un grupo diferente.<br />
