Abstract<br />
The goal of this research was to develop bioenergy teaching in the web by survey. The<br />
research is part of the Northern WoodHeat- project, of which goal is to improve<br />
bioenergy knowledge in Finland, Scotland and Iceland.<br />
The aim was to find out what kind of learning material is wanted about bioenergy. In this<br />
research differences between profession groups and nationalities were compared in<br />
interest, experience and knowledge about bioenergy themes. Respondents technical<br />
preparedness was also founded out and what kind of presentations they preferred.<br />
Results are used as a help when bioenergy web studying site is planned.<br />
Survey was carried out as a web survey. Link to survey and message was sent to<br />
respondents by e-mail. The link was sent to students of North <strong>Karelia</strong> University of<br />
Applied Sciences in Utra and to contacts in Scotland and Iceland. Quantitative research<br />
was used as a research method. Answers were analyzed with SPSS statistics<br />
programme.<br />
Response rate in Finland was approximately 24%. Respondents proportion in Scotland<br />
and Iceland was unfortunately low.<br />
According to results, respondents had most professional experience of management of<br />
young forests. It was also most interested bioenergy theme along with themes<br />
connecting to harvesting of energy wood. The most wanted web site presentation were<br />
printable pages, pictures and PowerPoint-presentations.<br />
