Possible changes to the Notice of Race and to the Sailing Instructions are published on the official notice board in the website of the race. ENTRY AND CONTACT INFORMATION Entry to the race by the web form in the race websitewww.helsinkitallinnarace.fi Entry fees are paid to the bank account of the race. You’ll find due dates and entry fees in the Notice of Race. Please enter your entry data first in the website and then pay the entry fee including the reference number which can be found among the boat’s data on the page “Ilmoittautuneet” under “Ilmoittaudu” in the website. A confirmation mail containing the reference number is also sent. PLEASE NOTE, that the entry fee has to be paid in time even if the reference number is missing. 48 ABOUT LYS HANDICAPS In the LYS class a boat is either a standard boat, i.e. it is found in the FinLYS catalogue, or it has a FinLYS certificate. You can verify whether your boat is a standard LYS boat in the website’s entry form by searching your boat from the drop-down menu. You’ll find the drop-down menu at “Luokka / LYS vakiovene”. The boats are in an alphabetical order according to the boat type. Or you can check your boat in the website of The Finnish Offshore Racing Association at http://www.avomeripurjehtijat.fi/index. phpoption=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=329
If you can’t find your boat in the FinLYS catalogue it must have a FinLYS certificate. You can order one at http://www.avomeripurjehtijat.fi/index.phpoption=com_fabrik& view=form&fabrik=2&random=0&fabriklayout=lys&Itemid=306 You can change the LYS handicap of a standard LYS boat for the race according to the following: • If you want to race with a spinnaker or gennaker but it is not defined as standard equipment of your boat – you’ll need a FinLYS certificate. Please refer to the above how to apply one. • If the standard equipment for your boat does not include a propeller but you have installed one: 0,02 is deducted from the LYS handicap of your boat for a fixed blade propeller and 0,01 for a folding propeller • If the standard equipment for your boat includes a propeller, but you have installed a folding propeller instead of a fixed blade propeller, 0,01 is added to the LYS handicap of your boat and 0,01 is deducted for a fixed propeller instead of a 49
