CONCLUSIONS 1<br />
• The use of an addon battery with plugin capability for<br />
grid electricity uptake was proven to be highly<br />
successful<br />
• On average, some 25 % reduction in fuel use, and at<br />
best, 40 to 50 % reduction achieved<br />
• Both urban type of driving and longdistance extra urban<br />
commuting were analysed<br />
• Urban driving offered somewhat larger potentials in fuel<br />
savings, because of lower speeds and adequate capacity<br />
of the battery
