• However, the adverse effect of cold ambient
temperature was also demonstrated
• Main parameter is engine running time, needed for
heating of the interior space
• Therefore, the reduction potential in short­distance
commuting suffers in wintertime, but use of block
heater can compensate to some extent
• The field test continues to complete a 36 month period with
better instrumentation on board allowing more accurate
recording of key parameters during driving & charging
