Bartholet Maschinenbau AG (BMF)
with headquarters in Flums,
Switzerland, is an internationally
leading company in the fields of
ropeway systems and amusement
park facilities as well as mechanical
engineering and metal processing.
Primary the distribution of BMF
products is handled by the BMF
own sales team or by our sales
agents worldwide. The amusement
park facilities are distributed by the
BMF subsidiary SWISS RIDES AG.
The group of companies is consisting
of different profit centres.

The BMF team consists of 25
engineers, construction and design
engineers. Further 45 engineers are
available within our network on
request. Thus a valuable flexibility
can be reached, which allows BMF
to assure that each project – from
the first rough sketch up to the
final drawing – is processed by a
competent team of engineering
specialists with an experienced
project manager at the head.
Our creative and solution-oriented
engineering and project planning
team is successfully active in constructing,
designing, engineering
and project planning in all fields of
our different areas of operation.
The most modern tools such as 3-D
CAD systems, static and simulation
programs coupled with conventional
data transmission systems

of amusement park facilities. The
technologies for the construction
of ropeways and amusement ride
facilities are often very similar. Thus
the existing technical know-how
offers an important advantage, e.g.
for the world’s longest wild water
course realized by SWISS RIDES AG
in Shenzhen, China.
SWISS RIDES AG is a supplier of
theme and amusement park facilities,
well-known for high-quality
products, especially water related.
They are specialised to supply
customised installations, including
all performances and services like
design, technical calculations,
production up to and including
assembly and installation on site.

TSCHU-TSCHU Road Trains for
parks and tourism as well as urban
systems, both well-established and
innovative products at the same
time, are produced and successfully
distributed by Road Trains Tschu-
Tschu GmbH, Germany, and the
Swiss Road Trains AG, Flums, both
companies of the BMF group. The
TSCHU-TSCHU Road Trains are
all-around in centres of tourism,
parks, zoos as well as amusement
and pleasure grounds. Just as often
they are used by hotels, at airports
and by companies. Thus, today
far more than one thousand units
of TSCHU-TSCHU road trains are
on the market already. Moreover,
the double-decker busses, which
are also included in the range of
products of the Tschu-Tschu GmbH
are welcome attractions at all these
locations. In addition the urban
systems (also available solar-powered)
find increasingly the approval
of our clients.

Les trams TSCHU-TSCHU pour

Auch die ebenfalls im Programm
der Tschu-Tschu GmbH angebotenen
Doppeldecker-Busse gelten
an solchen Orten als willkommene

urbanen Systeme (auch solarangetrieben)
immer mehr Anklang
bei den Kunden.

Under the brand name «Metaschal»
BMF produces high-precision
metal formworks for concrete
elements like e. g. angular plate
formworks, variable formworks,
light well formworks, plate formworks,
corner angle formworks,
balcony formworks, waste water
conduits, container boxes, concrete
guard railings etc. The complete
package of works and services
offered by «Metaschal» includes
consulting and engineering, construction,
in-house production and
logistics. The tolerances lie in the
range of less than 0.2 mm.
Large scale machining
In the BMF large scale machining
customised designs are created as
individual items or in mini series
like e.g. a melting furnace weighing
35 tonnes. The production of these
complex machine parts requires

Sous la marque «Metaschal» la
BMF réalise des coffrages métalliques
pour la fabrication des
éléments en béton d’une précision
absolue comme par exemple:
coffrages pour plaques d’angle,
coffrages variables, coffrages pour
soupirail et puits de lumière,
coffrages pour marches rectangulaires
pleines, coffrages pour dalles,
encoignures, balcons, rigoles,
boxes container, glissières en béton
etc. L’offre diversifiée s’entend des
conseils, de l’ingénierie, conception
et projection, fabrication
dans notre propre usine jusqu‘à
la logistique. Les tolérances sont
inférieures à +/- 0,2 mm.
Usinage et façonnage de pièces de
grosse dimensions
Dans la division usinage et façonnage
de pièces de grosse dimensions
de BMF on fabrique des versions
spéciales, exemplaires
uniques ou en mini-série. La production
de ces pièces complexes
exige un haut degré de précision
et d’expérience en programmation.
Commandes répondant aux
demandes de nos clients comme
par exemple un four fusion d’un
poids de 35 tonnes est réalisé dans
la division usinage et façonnage
de pièces de grosse dimension de
BMF.

Das breite Angebot reicht von der
Beratung über das Engineering,
die Konstruktion, Eigenfabrikation
bis zur Logistik. Die Toleranzen liegen

Grossbearbeitung
In der Grossbearbeitung der BMF
entstehen Spezialanfertigungen als
Einzelstücke oder in Kleinstserien.

Kundenspezifische
Anforderungen wie z.B. ein Auftrag

production
The mechanical engineering and
production department of BMF
disposes of the latest equipment
and machinery for drilling, milling,
turning and sawing.
The machinery in operation is
equipped with state-of-the-art
makes and consequently allows a
high flexibility as well as considerably
short production times. The
range of production covers parts
from medium to large size. The
high operational availability and
the utmost precision of these technically
sophisticated machines
give BMF the possibility to meet
the clients’ requirements in a professional
way and to fulfil every
special desire from the clients’ side
to their entire satisfaction. The 40
machines and the multi-skilled staff
of the BMF mechanical engineering
and production dept. work round
the clock in three-shift operation.
The list of references include renowned
companies from the vacuum
technology sector with ultimate
requirements. Partly the tolerance
level is only a thousandth of a millimetre.
Furthermore comprehensive
knowledge and skills in welding
technologies (MIG, MAG, TIC) are
frequently needed, too.
To meet with the high quality and
clients’ requirements BMF holds
the qualification certificate in
welding according to DIN 18800-7.

Nous sommes équipés
de 40 machines et la production
marche 24 heures sur 24 (service
par roulement) pour des clients
réputés comme la technologie vacuum
avec des exigences très élevées.
Il y a des cas où la tolérance
est d’un millième de millimètre. La
dextérité de la technique de la soudure
(MIG, MAG, TIC) est souvent
exigée. Afin de satisfaire les hautes
exigences de qualité ainsi que les
demandes élevées des clients, BMF
travaille selon la norme de soudage
DIN 18800-7.

Abteilung, deren Produktion
rund um die Uhr im Drei-Schicht-
Betrieb für namhafte Unternehmen
aus der Vakuumtechnik mit

Toleranz liegt zum Teil bei einem
Tausendstelmillimeter.
Auch die Fertigkeit der Schweisstechnik
(MIG, MAG, TIC) ist häufig
gefragt. Um den hohen Qualitäts-
und Kundenanforderungen gerecht
zu werden, wird bei der BMF
gemäss dem Schweisseignungsnachweis
nach DIN 18800-7
gearbeitet.

Montage

Energy
Energy management
With their activity in the field of
energy management BMF have
entered a new sphere, the photovoltaic.
However, the features
of this innovative system are not
so different from the ropeway
technology. Actually it is based on
a specially developed rope tension
system with photovoltaic modules,
which permit to increase the energy
output of the solar modules by
up to 30% as they can be adjusted
in a particularly advantageous way
according to the position of the
sun. In addition the costs for this
system are really favourable and
competitive in comparison to other
systems of equal quality. The pilot
plant has already been installed in
Waldshut, Germany. Further solar
parks for Southern Europe with up
to ten megawatt are already in the
project planning. The marketing
for these solar plants is assumed by
the BMF participation of the new
Solar Wings AG, which has been
founded specially for this purpose.
Technique énergétique
Par la technique énergétique BMF
est entrée dans un domaine additionnel:
le photovoltaïque. Cependant,
la technologie de ce système
innovant est apparentée à celle
des remontées mécaniques. Basé
sur un système de câble développé
spécialement, avec des modules
photovoltaïques qui permettent
une augmentation du rendement
énergétique des modules solaires
de 30% du fait que ceux-ci
peuvent être ajustés de manière
optimal en direction du soleil, le
coût est considérablement bas
en comparaison avec d’autres
systèmes de cette catégorie.
L’installation pilote a déjà été réalisée
à Waldshut, Allemagne.
Des installations futures jusqu’à
dix mégawatts sont en projet pour
être réalisées en Europe du Sud.
Le marketing pour ces installations
photovoltaïques est assuré par
BMF par sa participation dans Solar
Wings AG, fondée dans ce but.

Energietechnik
Mit der Energietechnik ist die BMF
in ein zusätzliches neues Betätigungsfeld,
die Photovoltaik, eingetreten,
wobei dieses innovative
System aber gar nicht so weit
entfernt von der Seilbahntechnik
ist. Denn es basiert auf einem
speziell entwickelten Seilzugsystem
mit photovoltaischen Modulen, die
es ermöglichen, den Energieertrag
der Solarmodule um bis zu 30% zu
erhöhen, da sich diese wesentlich
günstiger auf die Sonne ausrichten
lassen, wobei die Kosten deutlich
niedriger liegen als bei vergleichbaren
Systemen. Die Pilotanlage wurde
bereits in Waldshut, Deutschland,
installiert. Weitere Solarparks
in Südeuropa mit bis zu zehn
Megawatt sind schon in Planung.
Das Marketing für diese Solaranlagen
wird von der BMF-Beteiligung
an der eigens gegründeten
Solar Wings AG übernommen.

History
In 1962 Anton Bartholet opened
up a small mechanical workshop
in Flums, Switzerland, and initially
dealt with repairs and revisions of
agricultural machinery and equipment.
Thanks to his innovative inventiveness
he soon developed his
own constructions in the field of
agricultural machinery engineering
but also increasingly made a name
for himself as a ski lift and ropeway
specialist. The evolution from a
pure repair workshop to a production
enterprise led to a successive
personnel and operational growth,
which resulted in the establishment
of the Bartholet Maschinenbau AG
in 1970.
The increasingly wider product
range ultimately necessitated an
organisational and operational
diversification. The agricultural
machinery and timber splitter
remained under the direction of
the company founder, whereas
the ropeway construction and
newly added divisions with the
well-known BMF logo under the
management of certified engineer
Roland Bartholet have been settled
in the Lochriet industrial area of
Flums since 1997. At the beginning
of 2011 the company employed
about 250 people worldwide. The
production work in the second
generation of the Bartholet family
is done in seven work shops at the
Lochriet site.
Histoire
En 1962, Monsieur Anton Bartholet
ouvrait à Flums, Suisse, un petit
atelier mécanique pour y effectuer
des révisions et des réparations des
machines agricoles de la région.
Grâce à son esprit inventeur et
innovateur, il développait rapidement
ses propres constructions
dans le domaine des machines
agricoles. Son nom commença à
se faire connaître dans le domaine
des téléskis et du transport par
câble. L’activité de réparation fut
complétée par celle de production.
Par l’accroissement de l’activité et
du nombre de collaborateurs, fut
fondée en 1970 la société Bartholet
Maschinenbau SA.
L’étendue des activités et des
produits grandissant, une réorganisation
fut initiée. L’activité des machines
agricoles et forestières resta
sous la direction des fondateurs de
la société. Les activités de transport
par câbles et celles à venir furent
regroupées sous le logo BMF, dans
la zone d’activités de Lochriet à
Flums, sous la direction de Roland
Bartholet en deuxième génération
en 1997. Actuellement les 250
collaborateurs au monde œuvrent
dans les sept bâtiments situés à
Lochriet (Flums), Suisse.

Geschichte
1962 eröffnete Anton Bartholet

Maschinen und Geräte. Dank
seinem innovativen Erfindergeist

im Bereich der Landmaschinentechnik

Entwicklung von der Reparaturwerkstätte
zum Produktionsbetrieb
führte zu einem sukzessiven personellen
und betrieblichen Wachstum
und 1970 zur Gründung der
Bartholet Maschinenbau AG. Die
immer breiter werdende Produktpalette
bedingte eine organisatorische
und betriebliche Diversifikation.
Der Bereich Landmaschinen
und Holzspalter verblieb unter
der Leitung des Firmengründers,
während der Seilbahnbau und weitere
neue Sparten mit dem bekannten
Logo BMF unter Führung von
Dipl. Ing. Roland Bartholet seit
1997 in zweiter Generation mit inzwischen
über 250 Arbeitnehmern
weltweit in sieben Werkhallen am
Standort Flums Lochriet produziert.
