VALORISATION AGRICOLE DES DECHETS SOLIDES URBAINS DE LA VILLE DE OUAGADOIUGOU
ABSTRACT
In order to preserve the populations of the harmful effects caused by waste, an ecological
management is required. To this end, the up grader is positioned as one of the most suitable ways
to the current situation. It would help to combat poverty and especially to contribute to the sanitation
of the city. Ouagadougou is experiencing a great development of urban agriculture, requiring the
need for amendment. It is as well as in the framework of the project "Strategy for Waste Reduction
of Ouagadougou (PSRDO) ", it has been entrusted to us to carry out a study to look on the
valorization of municipal solid waste in the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, for the purposes
of urban agriculture or forestry by the technical in composting. He comes to the production of
compost by the technique in Andean. With the aim to make available to make it available to the
farmers and foresters a compost with Fertilizing qualities suited to vegetable plants and woody.
Twelve (12) formulas of composting have been developed from different combinations of
biodegradable waste in the capital: green waste; waste paper; slaughterhouse waste; organic
manure as well as an additive (Burkina Faso phosphate). The composts products have achieved the
maximum temperatures fluctuating between 55 and 65 °C with a phase of maturation and
stabilization maintained above 40 °C in a warm period (April and May). Composting addition of
Burkina phosphate (BP) is faster and less expensive. The combination of slaughterhouse waste to
green waste more than BP produced quality compost economically profitable.
