L'année de tous les records ! Les années se suivent et se ressemblent au Old Course. A l’instar d’une année 2011 qui a vu notre Club fêter son 120e anniversaire à un rythme effréné, le cru 2012 se révèle être tout aussi d’exception. Le poids des années ne semble pas atteindre ce parcours mythique qui a connu une année riche en émotion et en records.

Ce nouveau back tee, de 30 mètres plus long, devra changer la trajectoire de nos<br />
golfeurs : Gérard Carra, directeur de l’enseignement, invite Kieran, notre intendant<br />
du Celtic Golf Management, greenkeeper du <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Course</strong>.<br />
This new back tee, which is 30 meters longer, will change the way of playing that<br />
hole for our Golfers : Gerard Carra, Head Pro, is inviting Kieran, the greenkeeper<br />
from Celtic Golf Management, to talk about it.<br />
Le départ est décalé vers la gauche ainsi que le fairway dévié vers la droite<br />
réclamant un très joli draw pour toucher le fairway, sinon un rough épais nous<br />
pénalisera aussitôt. Kieran, ayant les mêmes idées de H.S COLT (l’architecte du<br />
<strong>Old</strong> <strong>Course</strong> en 1891) tend à se rapprocher à la conception d’un véritable links !<br />
Alors imaginons des bunkers de fairways comme la Mecque du golf de Saint<br />
Andrews ou bien Carnoustie Golf Links !<br />
The tee is slightly on the left and the fairway can only be well hit by playing a nice<br />
draw to the right, to avoid the dangerous and thick rough. Kieran has the same<br />
way of thinking as Harry Colt (the <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Course</strong> Architect in 1891) and he knows<br />
what true links are ! Let us dream of St Andrews or Carnoustie golf links !
