Ilie TURCULEŢ Diagnose. Coquille presque équivalve, de dimensions moyenne-grandes, de 45-50 mm en longueur, jusqu’aux 80 mm. Le contour de valves est oblique-ovale, beaucoup élonge en sens diagonal. La marge cardinale est plus petite que moitié de <strong>la</strong> longueur de <strong>la</strong> coquille. Les deux valves sont modérément convexes. L’umbo de <strong>la</strong> valve gauche est petit, faiblement élevé pardessus de <strong>la</strong> marge cardinale. L’oreillette postérieure est de dimensions moyennes, lisses, c<strong>la</strong>irement séparées <strong>du</strong> reste de <strong>la</strong> valve par un fossé concave. L’ornementation est formée par côtes radiaires et plis concentriques. Les côtes radiaires sont re<strong>la</strong>tivement minces, de 1-2 mm en <strong>la</strong>rgeur. Elles sont rondes et pressentent souvent juste deux ordres, celles <strong>du</strong> I er ordre étant jusqu’aux 30. Rarement, sur les grands exemp<strong>la</strong>ires, on peut observer côtes radiaires <strong>du</strong> III ème ordre. Les côtes radiaires de tous les ordres peuvent être rectilignes, mais, parfois, pressentent, dans <strong>la</strong> zone <strong>la</strong>térale-postérieure, un fascicule de côtes on<strong>du</strong>les et zigzaguées, spécialement sur <strong>la</strong> moitie ventrale de valves (ex. Monotis (Salimonotis) salinaria (Schloth.). L’ornementation concentrique est formée par stries filiformes, parfois plie-forme, étalés plus ou moins régulièrement. Il diffère d’autres sous-<strong>genre</strong>s par <strong>la</strong> condition quasiéquivalve, subéquiconvexe, l’ornementation avec des côtes minces, droites et on<strong>du</strong>lées, l’oreillette postérieure c<strong>la</strong>irement indivi<strong>du</strong>alisée. Ce sous-<strong>genre</strong> inclue les espèces suivantes : Monotis salinaria (Schloth.) (avec les sousespèces : M. salinaria salinaria (Schloth.), M. salinaria taurica (Mousseiev), M. salinaria anjuensis Bytschov & Efimova, M. salinaria a<strong>la</strong>skana Smith), M. haueri Kittl (avec les sousespèces M. haueri convexa Turculeţ et M. haueri semistriata Turculeţ), M. limaeformis Gemmel<strong>la</strong>ro, M. obtusicostata Westermann, M. semicircu<strong>la</strong>ris Gab., M. cal<strong>la</strong>zonensis Westermann, M. intermedia (Trechmann), M. gigantea Avia. Âge. Norien moyen-supérieur (A<strong>la</strong>unien- Sévatien). Comme on a pu observer, les sous-<strong>genre</strong>s proposés par nous respectent partiellement <strong>la</strong> <strong>structure</strong> de quelques groupes définies par Payevskaya (1985) et considérées comme des supra-espèces. On a considéré que les espèces de <strong>la</strong> groupe « subcircu<strong>la</strong>ris » (Payevskaya) ne respectent pas les paramètres monodimensionnelles c<strong>la</strong>irement diffèrents de ceux de <strong>la</strong> groupe « salinaria » (Payevskaya), donc on les a attaché au sous<strong>genre</strong> Salimonotis. Aussi, les espèces séparées dans <strong>la</strong> groupe « calvata » (Payevskaya) ne peuvent être inclues dans aucun des sous-<strong>genre</strong>s proposés, mais, après notre opinion, elles ne justifient pas <strong>la</strong> séparation d’un nouveau sous-<strong>genre</strong>. La condition assez ingrate <strong>du</strong> niveau de conservation, le grade précaire d’intégrité <strong>du</strong> matériel, et le nombre plus que modeste d’exemp<strong>la</strong>ires ne permettrent pas, dans ce moment-<strong>la</strong>, une décision c<strong>la</strong>irement motivée pour <strong>la</strong> option d’un nouveau taxon sousgénérique.
