USER’S MANUAL. TV EXPLORER HD ATSCFigure 9.- Signal automatic identification screen. AUTO ID.EnglishFirst it recognises whether the signal is an analogue channel or a digital one. If thechannel is analogue, it determines the television standard of the signal. When the signalis digital (DVB), it analyses for each modulation type QAM / QPSK / 8PSK / 8-VSB allthe associated parameters such as the modulation system: symbol rate, code rate,etc.,. and determines the value of the signals under test.If the AUTO ID function is launched in the spectrum analyser mode, the name ofthe network will appear temporarily on screen (it also appears in the measurementdisplay). In case of working in the satellite band the orbital position appears as well. While performing automatic identification may be the equipment keeps detectingthe NETWORK ID for a long time. During this process, the CANCEL button switches toSKIP, which allows bypassing the NETWORK ID without losing the other parameters ofthe autodetection.Whenever the process detects new parameters for a channel or frequency willcreate a new channel plan containing the detected information.NOTE: The icon in the upper corner of a digital measurement screen statesthat the signal level is higher than the minimum threshold (see thePREFERENCES menu) but demodulator cannot lock it maybe due to somewrong configuration parameter. In such case, the user must press AUTO ID[25] key.03/2012 Page 33
