<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Metroparks</strong> presents27th annuala m at e u r<strong>photography</strong> <strong>contest</strong>ENTRIES ACCEPTED beginning Wednesday, May 1at Penitentiary Glen Nature Center, 8668 Kirtland-Chardon Road, Kirtland. Entries can be submitted andpayment made at the Information Desk from 9 am to4:30 pm daily.ENTRY DEADLINE is 4:30 pm, Friday, May 31, 2013.Entry form and payment must accompany entries.DIVISIONS are Adult and Junior (ages 14 and younger).ENTRY FEE is $5 per print for adults, $3 per printfor juniors (ages 14 and younger). Cash in theEXACT amount or personal check (made out to <strong>Lake</strong><strong>Metroparks</strong>) accepted.ENTRIES Adults may submit a maximum of sixphotographs in the <strong>contest</strong>; Juniors (ages 14 andyounger) may enter a maximum of three photos inthe <strong>contest</strong>. No more than two photographs may besubmitted by anyone in a single category.OPENING RECEPTION and awards ceremony willbe held on Friday, June 7, 2013, at 7:30 pm atPenitentiary Glen Nature Center. Winners will beannounced and prizes awarded. Light refreshments willbe served.PRIZES are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place andBest of Show winners. Ribbons are awarded to 1st, 2ndand 3rd place and Honorable Mention winners in eachcategory. All winners are determined by independent<strong>contest</strong> judges.NEWCATEGORIES: Photos can be either film or digital1. LAKE METROPARKS– Color photos should highlighta unique natural aspect of a particular park within<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Metroparks</strong> and may include people, animals orarchitecture as it relates to the park. The park locationmust be clearly identified.2. LAKE ERIE– Color photographs submitted in thiscategory should highlight <strong>Lake</strong> Erie and its uniqueshoreline. Photos may include people, animals orarchitecture as it relates to the lake.3. WILDLIFE– This category is for color photos thatfeature wildlife such as birds, mammals, reptiles,amphibians, and insects. *Note: Domestic animals donot qualify for this category.4. LANDSCAPE/FLORAL– Color photos in this categoryshould feature scenic images of nature and/or flowers.Photos may include animals or architecture as theyrelate to the landscape or flowers.5. weather– Photos in this category should depictnatural phenomena relating to weather such asstorms/clouds/lightning, rain/rainbows/puddles, snow,hail, icicles, etc. Photos may include people, animals,or architecture as they relate to weather.6. BLACK & WHITE– This category is for all black andwhite photos. Subject matter can depict any of thespecified categories listed above.EXHIBIT of all qualifying entries will be on displaySaturday, June 8 through Sunday, July 28, 2013 inPenitentiary Glen Nature Center.note: ALL PHOTOS MUST BE TAKEN INTHE OUT-OF-DOORS WITHIN LAKE COUNTY.
