SHELVING ACCESSORY INSTALLATION BEST PRACTICES
PLAN TO LEAVE SPACE FOR ACCESSORIES
When planning out space for locking door fronts, it is common to forget to include the height of divider shelving extrusions (3.5”)
and any included retainer lips (3”) in height calculations, which can create issues when it comes time to install your door fronts.
UTILIZE YOUR RETAINER LIP TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR SHELVING UNIT
Without a wheel well obstruction to worry about, the space below your shelves can be made as tall or short as
you’d like. As seen in the image on the left, this leftover space can even be turned into additional storage by
adding on a retainer lip and even a door front for added security. In this case, a 3”H retainer lip and 10”H door
have been installed, effectively turning this under-shelf space into roughly an additional 13” of usable storage.
INSTALL SHELVING DECKS UPSIDE DOWN
Shelving decks can be installed upside down for lipless shelving.
CUT YOUR SHELVING TO ANY LENGTH
Westcan shelving can also be cut down to any length, and by removing
the aluminum extrusion they can also be made narrower.
Remember: Measure twice, cut once!
