Hier et aujourd’hui<br />
LE BOUVERET LES EVOUETTES <strong>–</strong> PORT-VALAIS PORTES DU SOLEIL - CHABLAIS<br />
<strong>Le</strong> <strong>Bouveret</strong> fut certainement l’une<br />
des premières vocations touristiques<br />
de la région disputant fièrement, au<br />
début des années 1900, la palme de<br />
l’élégance à sa sœur aînée Evian.<br />
<strong>Le</strong>s premiers habitants de la région<br />
résidèrent sur la colline de <strong>Port</strong>-<br />
<strong>Valais</strong>. <strong>Le</strong>s limites du territoire de la<br />
commune commencèrent à se profiler,<br />
une fois le Rhône assagi, à travers<br />
les marécages assainis par le formidable travail de la population.<br />
Mais l’histoire moderne de la commune de <strong>Port</strong>-<strong>Valais</strong>, c’est celle de deux villages<br />
complémentaires, entre lac et montagne, les <strong>Evouettes</strong> et le <strong>Bouveret</strong>.<br />

<strong>Le</strong> <strong>Bouveret</strong> war bestimmt eines der bevorzugten touristischen Ziele der<br />
Gegend und befand sich zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts in stolzer Rivalität mit<br />
der älteren Schwester Evian um den Preis der höchsten Eleganz.<br />
Die ersten Bewohner dieser Gegend liessen sich auf dem Hügel von <strong>Port</strong>-<strong>Valais</strong><br />
nieder. Die Grenzen begannen sich auszuweiten, sobald die Rhone sich beruhigte,<br />
und die Sümpfe durch die harte Arbeit der Bevölkerung zurückgedrängt<br />
wurden. Aber die moderne Geschichte der Gemeinde <strong>Port</strong>-<strong>Valais</strong> ist jene der<br />
zwei sich ergänzenden Dörfer zwischen See und Berg, <strong>Le</strong>s <strong>Evouettes</strong> und <strong>Le</strong><br />
<strong>Bouveret</strong>.<br />

<strong>Le</strong> <strong>Bouveret</strong> was certainly one of the first tourist preferences of the region at<br />
the beginning of the 1900s in proud competition for the palmarès of elegance<br />
with its elder sister Evian.<br />
The first settlers of the region resided on the hill of <strong>Port</strong>-<strong>Valais</strong>. The limits of the<br />
territory began to be expanded, once the Rhone calmed down, through the<br />
swamps regained by the formidable work of the population. But the modern<br />
history of the community of <strong>Port</strong>-<strong>Valais</strong> is the story of the two complementary<br />
villages between lake and mountain, les <strong>Evouettes</strong> and le <strong>Bouveret</strong>.<br />

<strong>Le</strong> <strong>Bouveret</strong> fu una delle prime destinazioni turistiche della regione e degna<br />
rivale di Evian.<br />
I primi abitanti della regione risiederono sulla collina di <strong>Port</strong>-<strong>Valais</strong>. I limiti del<br />
territorio del comune iniziarono poi a profilarsi attraverso le paludi risanate del<br />
Rodano. Ma la storia moderna del comune di <strong>Port</strong>-<strong>Valais</strong> si identifica con quella<br />
dei due villaggi complementari tra il lago e la montagna, <strong>Evouettes</strong> e <strong>Bouveret</strong>.<br />

En été c’est aussi une multitude d’événements que la charmante station balnéaire<br />
propose: concerts gratuits le jeudi soir, différents marchés au bord du lac ou encore<br />
des manifestations sportives comme la Course pédestre des 2 lacs <strong>Le</strong> <strong>Bouveret</strong> -<br />
Taney, ou la manche du Championnat suisse de jet-ski.<br />
<strong>Le</strong> 31 juillet, ne manquez pas les spectaculaires feux d’artifice en honneur de la fête<br />
nationale du 1er août. Ils font partie des plus beaux feux du haut-lac et attirent<br />
chaque année un large public.<br />

im Jet-Ski.<br />
Am 31. Juli sollten Sie auf keinen Fall das spektakuläre Feuerwerk zum 1. August<br />
verpassen. Es gehört zu den Schönsten in der oberen Seehälfte und zieht jedes Jahr<br />
eine grosse Menschenmenge an.<br />

In summer especially the charming village on the lake shore offers a multitude of<br />
events and entertainment: free open air concerts on Thursday evening, different<br />
markets on the lake front or sport events like the race “between two lakes” from<br />
<strong>Bouveret</strong> to Taney, or even a leg of the Swiss Championships in jet-ski.<br />
Under no circumstances should you miss the spectacular fireworks on 31st July in<br />
honour of our National Day, the 1st of August. They are among the most beautiful on<br />
the upper lake and attract huge crowds every year.<br />

LE BOUVERET RANDONNÉES<br />
<strong>Le</strong>s balades à pied et les randonnées en montagne sont très diversifiées. <strong>Le</strong><br />
parcours en plaine menant à Villeneuve à travers la réserve naturelle des<br />
Grangettes est très apprécié des promeneurs. L’alpage de Chalavornaire offre<br />
une vue magnifique sur le lac Léman et mène au site idyllique du lac Taney,<br />
point de départ pour des sommets tels que le Grammont à une altitude<br />
de 2171 m.<br />
<strong>Le</strong>s cyclistes pourront profiter des nombreux itinéraires cyclables de la route<br />
du Rhône ou du Chablais.<br />

durch die Ebene nach Villeneuve führt durch das Naturschutzgebiet der<br />
Grangettes und wird von den Wanderern sehr geschätzt. Die Alp von<br />
Chavalornaire bietet eine einmalige Aussicht auf den Genfersee und führt<br />
weiter an den idyllischen See von Taney, den Ausgangspunkt für Gipfel wie den<br />
Grammont mit einer Höhe von 2171 m.<br />
Auf Radfahrer warten zahlreiche Radelwege der Rhone entlang oder im<br />

plain to Villeneuve will take you through the nature reserve of Grangettes and<br />
is much appreciated by pedestrians. The Alp of Chalavornaire offers a magnificent<br />
view of Lake Geneva and leads to the idyllic Lake of Taney, the starting<br />
point for climbs to peaks like the Grammont at 2171 m height.<br />
Cyclists can take advantage of several cycle tracks along the Rhone River or<br />

<strong>Le</strong> premier vignoble valaisan de la rive gauche du Rhône est étalé sur quelques<br />
18 hectares dans le village des <strong>Evouettes</strong>. <strong>Le</strong> domaine viticole est passionnément<br />
cultivé et la réputation de son vin n’est plus à faire.<br />
<strong>Le</strong> <strong>Bouveret</strong> a la chance d’abriter l’Institut Hôtelier «César Ritz» faisant partie<br />
du groupe HOTELCONSULT SHCC Colleges. <strong>Le</strong>s quelque 200 étudiants occupant<br />
les locaux de l’école représentent environ 45 nationalités différentes.<br />

The first vineyard of the Canton of <strong>Valais</strong> on the left hand side of the Rhone<br />
