The TTF also operates the Learning Reimbursement Program that provides financial assistance for individual members to support their training and development activities to a maximum of $1,000 per person per fiscal year (depending on available funding). Activities must be pre-approved and may include courses offered by universities and other learning institutions, workshops and conferences, e-learning, and self-study. To learn more about the TTF's programs, please visit the Local 37 TTF website (www. ibew37.com/ trainingtrust), or contact the union office directly. Don't forget to ask what kind of training opportunities your employer offers. If there's specific training that you're interested in, let it be known, as your employer must give your request proper consideration. If you're not accepted, you may eligible for assistance from the reimbursement program. Local 37 also provides training opportunities for local officers, stewards, committee members and other leaders through the International Office of the IBEW and its affiliates. – 38 –
HEALTH AND WELLNESS The IBEW Local 37 Health, Wellness, and Benefits Committee (HWBC) supports and encourages the health and wellness of its members. Its mandate is to help protect and maintain the interests of the members with respect to health, wellness, and benefits. The HWBC recognizes that health and wellness can mean many things to many people, so it works to develop and promote programs that cover a broad range of topics and interests intended to promote healthier lifestyles and workplace well-being. Any program the HWBC supports or manages must help promote healthy, active, and sustainable lifestyle choices.
