Seperti diketahui Sektor Pertanianmasih sangat dominan dalam pembentukanPDRB Gunungkidul.Tingginya kenaikan harga-harga ditingkat produsen pada tahun 2008 dibandingdengan tahun 2007 dapat dicermati daribesarnya nilai indeks harga implisit berantaiyang dihasilkan. Pada tahun 2008 indeksharga implisit berantai mencapai 108,19.Sector, that of 35,07 percent. Pertumbuhan EkonomiSecara umum, semua sektor ekonomipada tahun 2008 mengalami pertumbuhanpositif, kecuali Sektor Pertambangan danPenggalian yang mengalami kontraksi sebesar0,66 persen. Selain itu, jika dilihat padamasing-masing sub sektor ekonomi, SubSektor Peternakan, Sub Sektor Perikanan, danSub Sektor Kehutanan juga mengalamikontraksi masing-masing sebesar 2,98 persen,1,26 persen, dan 0,13 persen.Sektor Pertanian yang merupakan sektordominan mampu tumbuh sebesar 5,27 persen.Pertumbuhan ini terutama didukung olehpertumbuhan di Sub Sektor Tanaman BahanMakanan sebesar 8,20 persen, kemudiandiikuti Sub Sektor Perkebunan 1,85 persen.Sedangkan tiga sub sektor lainnya mengalamipertumbuhan negatif. Pertumbuhan kedua subsektor yang positif ini ternyata cukup mampumengangkat pertumbuhan sektor pertanianmenjadi lebih signifikan dibanding tahunsebelumnya. Pertumbuhan Sektor Pertanianini lebih disebabkan oleh pertumbuhan SubSektor Tanaman Bahan Makanan, dimana subsektor ini mempunyai peranan sebesar 28,05persen terhadap PDRB KabupatenGunungkidul atas dasar harga konstansehingga sangat mempengaruhi pertumbuhanPDRB secara keseluruhan.Pada tahun 2008 ini pertumbuhantertinggi dicapai oleh Sektor Keuangan, sewa3.2. Trend of Several EconomicIndicators3.2.1. Economic GrowthGenerally, all of economic sector's in2008 grew positively, accept Mining andQuarrying Sector which had contraction0,66 percent. Meanwhile, Livestock andProducts sub sector, Fishery sub sector, andForestry sub sector also had negative grew.Those had contraction 2,98 percent, 1,26percent and 0,13 percent.The Agriculture sector which wasdominant sector could grow 5,27 percent.The number was mainly supported by FarmFood Crops sub sector grew 8,20 percent.
