Peta Peratus Dadah ini adalahpaparan data peratus penyalahgunaandadah mengikut daerah yang manasumber data ini diperoleh daripadaRajah 1: Peta Peratus Penyalahgunaan DadahMengikut DaerahRajah 2: ContohPaparan DataAgensi Anti Dadah Kebangsaan(AADK),2007. Data peratus penyalahgunaandadah ini dibuat perbandingan dengandata penduduk bagi membentuk tigakategori kawasan iaitu Kawasan Putih,Kawasan Kelabu dan Kawasan Hitam.any people do not know that non-formal, out-ofschool youth development work has a professionalknowledge base or that the quality of programsoffered in these settings depends upon the training ofprofessionals in the field. It is up to the youth developmentprofessional to explain the field to the community and toassure that community members recognize the vital role thisprofession plays in our society. The goal of youth developmentprograms is to help youth become fully prepared for transitionto adulthood. Youth development professionals offer youthopportunities within healthy environments to master thecompetencies they will need to make this transitions.Support Youth’s Basic NeedsIn order to master skills, young people must have certainneeds met. Research tells us that they must have:-• safety and structure• a sense of belonging and membership• closeness and several good relationships• experience with gaining competence and mastering skills• independence and control over some part of their lives• a sense of self-worth and the ability and opportunitiesto contributeDevelop Supporting Environments for YouthBecause youth grow and develop in the context of the family,community and society, these are the places where theseneeds must be met. Environments that provide the conditionsfor the healthy growth and development of youth can bedescribed as those that:• are inclusive and create connections and sense of belongingincluding a positive relationship with a caring adult;Kawasan Putih ialah kawasan yangmencatatkan kes penagihan kurang 0.1%berbanding dengan jumlah penduduk.Kawasan Kelabu ialah kawasan yangmencatatkan kes penagihan antara 0.1%hingga 0.49% berbanding denganjumlah penduduk. Kawasan Hitamialah kawasan yang mencatatkan kespenagihan 0.5% dan ke atasberbanding dengan jumlahpenduduk. Melalui pemetaanini, pengguna dapat melihatsecara langsung daerah yangterlibat mengikut tiga kategorikawasan tersebut. Daerahdi negeri sebelah Utara<strong>Malaysia</strong> mencatatkan banyakdaerah yang terlibat sebagaikawasan kelabu peratuspenyalahgunaan dadah, diikutinegeri sebelah Pantai Timur, Selatan danSabah dan Sarawak. Pengguna bolehmenggunakan tetikus dan diletakkanpada setiap daerah seperti Rajah 2 untukmelihat paparan data peratus belia danperatus dadah.Secara umumnya, merujuk kepada dataAADK 2007 dan dibandingkan denganjumlah penduduk <strong>Malaysia</strong>, tidakterdapat daerah yang dikategorikansebagai kawasan hitam.Peta Kawasan Tumpuan Dadahpula merupakan kepada kawasanyang padat dengan populasi belia dankawasan berisiko tinggi dengan dadah.Definisi khusus kawasan tumpuan inimerujuk kepada peratus dadah >=0.1 dan peratus belia >= 40. Warnamerah digunakan bagi mewakilimaksud daerah yang terlibat sebagaikawasan tumpuan dadah. Peta iniboleh digunakan oleh pelbagai pihakyang bertanggungjawab terutamanyapentadbir, pembuat dasar danperancang program sebagai panduanuntuk merancang program belia yangbersesuaian dengan memfokuskankepada kawasan tumpuan dadah.Rajah 3 : Peta Kawasan Tumpuan DadahSelamat Melayari Peta <strong>Belia</strong> IPPBM!Reviewing Youth DevelopmentPrinciples Oleh: Shariffah MamatM• provide opportunities to value and practice service forothers;• provide autonomy including an opportunity for selfdetermination;• provide opportunity for mastering skills and engagingin learning;• assure physical and emotional safety; and help youthvision a positive role for themselves in the future.Youth Competencies for Transitioning to AdulthoodIn addition, 4-H professionals are responsible for the outcomesof working directly with youth to help self-awareness and theability and opportunities individual youth achieve the skillsthey need. To act on that understanding, they must knowthe specific target for individual youth and identify the meansby which those skills are learned. Research has identifiedfive competency areas that youth must master for positivedevelopment and preparation for adulthood. These are:-1. Health/physical competence: having the appropriateknowledge, attitudes and behaviors that will ensurecurrent and future health2. Personal/social competence: personal skills such asan ability to understand one’s emotions and practice selfdiscipline: and interpersonal skills such as working withothers and developing and sustaining friendships3.
