LOAD LOSS
BALPEX MULTI-LAYER PIPE
The inner surface of Balpex multi-layer pipe has got a very low rugosity coefficient (7 millionth of millimetre)
which allows substances to flow fast and fluently. Considering that it is advisable to keep speed less than 3
metres per second when flowing cold water, the following diagram allows to calculate load loss (mbar/m)
starting from diameter of pipe (mm) and capacity (litres of flow in 1 hour) to make use of.
Litres of flow 1 hour
EXAMPLE:
In order to determine the load loss of the BALPEX 16X2 tube, under a flow of 400l/h at a water temperature
of 20 degrees C:
draw a vertical line starting from the expected flow rate (400l/h) until you come across
the slanting line concerning the diameter of the foreseen tube (16x2 mm) then draw a horizontal line from
the point of intersection until you obtain the corresponding load loss (9 mbar/m).
