Negli <strong>ori</strong> <strong>Regolini</strong>-<strong>Galassi</strong> possiamo riconoscere<br />
l’equivalente <strong>della</strong> doppia spirale, sempre secondo<br />
una rielaborazione del Vicino Oriente che data<br />
ancora all’età del bronzo : si tratta del motivo<br />
denominato «cup spirals», che qui possiamo<br />
vedere in una delle versioni correnti di epoca<br />
<strong>ori</strong>entalizzante, posto ad inquadrare una testa<br />
hath<strong>ori</strong>ca (fig. 15-16) 79 , oppure una palmetta<br />
fenicia.<br />
Il prototipo delle «cup spirals» è stato identificato<br />
nei pendenti <strong>della</strong> tomba 45 di Assur, XIV-<br />
XIII sec. a.C. (fig. 17) 80 e si ritrova nelle placche in<br />
oro ed elettro del deposito di fondazione di Efeso,<br />
datate al VII sec. a.C. (fig. 18) 81 ; sempre come<br />
motivo isolato occorre in gioielli e manufatti dell’Orientalizzante<br />
etrusco (fig. 19) 82 .<br />
Iconografia e tecnologia rappresentano, soprattutto<br />
se combinati, elementi chiave per ricostruire<br />
legami e influenze. Allora, guardando le «cup<br />
