Hotels: the first column shows<br />
the category of the establishment,<br />
from five to one star. 3 and<br />
4-star hotels can be marked with<br />
an S indicating the “superior”<br />
category, while 5-star hotels can<br />
be marked with an L indicating<br />
the “luxury” category.<br />
Other subtypes of accommodation<br />
facilities are marked as<br />
follows.<br />
R= RTA. Hotel-Residence. Supplies<br />
accommodation in living<br />
units (flats or rooms) equipped<br />
with a private kitchen.<br />
G= garnì. Supplying a breakfast<br />
service, with no internal restaurant.<br />
M= meublè. Supplies neither<br />
breakfast nor internal restaurant<br />
service, but overnight stay only.<br />
AT= spa hotel. Supplies permanent<br />
spa facilities and is an<br />
authorised spa centre in compliance<br />
with the law.<br />
M= motel. Supplies garage facilities.<br />
V= hotel village. Supplies special<br />
services similar to those of a<br />
holiday village: swimming pool,<br />
children’s pool or private beach,<br />
whirlpool, children’s playing<br />
area, etc.<br />
AD= decentralised hotel. Facility<br />
located in the historical town<br />
centre of municipalities with less<br />
than 5,000 inhabitants. Supplies<br />
a reception service in one point,<br />
while the flats (equipped with<br />
kitchen) are decentralised in<br />
different buildings (300 metres<br />
apart at the most) and situated<br />
in a pedestrian area.<br />
RE= period residence. Accommodation<br />
in buildings of particular<br />
prestige and historical value,<br />
mainly furnished with period<br />
furnishings.<br />
CG= congress centre. Supplies<br />
facilities, equipment and specialised<br />
services for the organisation<br />
of congress events and<br />
conventions.<br />
BF= beauty farm. Supplies specialised<br />
services for cosmetic<br />
and dietary treatments.<br />
CB= wellbeing centre. Supplies<br />
services, treatments and equipment<br />
for psycho-physical wellbeing<br />
and relaxation.<br />
Guesthouses and bed & breakfast<br />
facilities will be indicated in the<br />
first column with the following abbreviations:<br />
aff.cam and b&b.<br />
Alongside the name of the location<br />
you will find the postcode,<br />
the dialling code, the presence of<br />
a railway station where applicable<br />
and the high season periods<br />
for beach and spa resorts.<br />
Alongside the name of the hotel,<br />
you will find:<br />
_ (a.a.) which indicates annual<br />
opening, or (a.s.) which indicates<br />
seasonal opening, followed by<br />
the periods in which the hotel<br />
is operational (the months are<br />
marked by Roman numerals);<br />
_ Number of rooms, beds and<br />
bathrooms. The latter are preceded<br />
by a B;<br />
_ Conventional symbols (as<br />
indicated in the key to symbols)<br />
relating to the equipment and<br />
services.<br />
In campsites, alongside the<br />
name you will find two additional<br />
indications with respect to other<br />
accommodation facilities:<br />
_ the surface in square metres;<br />
_ the maximum number of<br />
guests allowed.<br />
The other columns contain the<br />
prices of the various types of<br />
rooms and, in the last column,<br />
the breakfast service which may<br />
be included, unavailable or for<br />
an extra charge (in this case the<br />
cost will be indicated in the last<br />
column).<br />
If a facility indicates two prices<br />
for the same type of room or<br />
service, the first of the two prices<br />
is to be considered valid for the<br />
low season, while the second is<br />
for the high season.<br />
No surcharge is payable for heating<br />
and any surcharges for air-conditioning<br />
must be indicated in the<br />
price table on display at reception<br />
in the accommodation facility.<br />
Notice: in compliance with the<br />
laws in forces, the operators<br />
are free to establish their own<br />
prices and inform the Provincial<br />
authorities of such prices by 1st<br />
October every year, with validity<br />
from 1st January of the following<br />
year. The high season periods on<br />
the other hand are established<br />
by the Provincial authorities.<br />
By 1st March of the following<br />
year, the operators are entitled<br />
to increase the prices applicable<br />
from the following 1st June.<br />
This brochure contains the maximum<br />
prices notified by 1st October<br />
2008, which are valid from<br />
1st January 2009.<br />
The services, where indicated,<br />
are available in at least one third<br />
of the rooms or living units of the<br />
accommodation facility.<br />
In order to avoid misunderstandings<br />
and possible disputes, it is<br />
advisable to consult the price<br />
table, which must be shown<br />
in the reception area of all accommodation<br />
facilities, and to<br />
enter into agreements in which<br />
the prices and other contractual<br />
clauses relating to the stay are<br />
defined.<br />
In the case of claims, the Provincial<br />
authorities may not legally<br />
authorise the reimbursement of<br />
sums to the customer.<br />
In the case of disputes between<br />
hotel owners and customers,<br />
the IAT offices accept claims and<br />
intervene for reconciliatory purposes<br />
only, while for claims regarding<br />
the application of prices,<br />
