The innovation: Less active substances
• The new DGHM testing method showed that well known formulas were no longer efficient, so the
concentration of the working solutions had to be increased. As a consequence, we developed new
combinations of active and inactive substances that lead to high efficacy while keeping the concentration
of our active agents low. The concentration of active ingredients in the working solution of Perfektan Endo
(1-3%), for example, is only 0.12% this is a substantial contribution to the protection of personnel and
patients.
• Free from aldehydes: The pros and cons
Products without aldehydes are now able to replace products containing aldehydes almost completely.
However, in certain cases (danger of epidemics or in tuberculosis sanatoria), aldehyde containing products
are required according to the guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute and the BSeuchG (Federal Contagious
Disease Control Law).
We have also reduced the concentration of active substances and the application time for our aldehyde
containing products.
Advantages of our aldehyde containing products:
very low concentration of active agents in the working solution
» short action periods
» broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity
» no protein fixing
» good material compatibility of the working solutions
» very good cleaning abilities
» suitable for ultrasound
» no discolourations after skin contact or after contact with cleaned surfaces
» nearly odourless in the working solution
» very low inhalative toxicity
» minimized risk of sensitization
» the products meet the requirements of the German law on the avoidance of sensitizing agents in
medical facilities (TRGS 525/540)
