Mediterranean citrus fruits
Il mandarino (citrus nobilis) e il bergamotto (citrus bergamia risso) sono gli agrumi con una maggiore concentrazione di oli essenziali
e con un’aromaticità più tipica. Il mandarino, pur proveniente dalla cina meridionale, si è impiantato in tutta l’area mediterranea ma
specialmente nell’Italia meridionale. Il bergamotto è tipicamente, e in pratica quasi esclusivamente, coltivato in Sicilia e calabria.
In fitoterapia gli agrumi hanno generalmente funzione disinfettante e cicatrizzante.
In una crema per le mani ne esaltano la funzione emolliente nonchè l’igiene, facendo da barriera a germi e inquinanti, e la freschezza
con il loro penetrante aroma.
Among citrus fruits, mandarin (Citrus nobilis) and bergamot (Citrus bergamia risso) have the highest concentration in essential oils and
an extremely typical flavor. Mandarin, despite coming from Southern China, is now perfectly integrated in the Mediterranean area, and
most of all in Southern Italy. Bergamot is typically and almost exclusively cultivated in Sicily and Calabria. Citrus fruits are usually used
in phytotherapy as disinfectant and cicatrizing. In a hand cream their freshness and penetrating flavor as well as their soothing and
hygienical properties are emphasized, making it a natural barrier to germs and pollutants.

Provence flowers
Lavanda e rosa centifolia, gelsomino e tuberosa, ma anche rosmarino, verbena, melissa. I fiori della Provenza sono un connubio
perfetto tra fragranze avvolgenti e proprietà antisettiche, battericide e astringenti. La Provenza è famosa proprio per la coltivazione di
queste rinomate piante, utilizzate sia nella cosmesi che nell’aromaterapia per le loro proprietà rilassanti e antidepressive.

mENTOLO E cANFORA
Menthol and camphor
Il mentolo è il più importante costituente della menta (menta piperita L.) ed ha proprietà rubescenti - attira cioè il sangue, da cui il
caratteristico rossore - non tossiche ed è considerato un anestetico locale e un disinfettante. La canfora è una sostanza cerosa con
una forte componente aromatica, estratta principalmente dal legno del cinnamomum camphora, un albero sempreverde di grandi
dimensioni. In cosmetica e principalmente in una crema piedi viene utilizzata per le sue qualità stimolanti, defaticanti ma, soprattutto,
rinfrescanti e deodoranti. Queste ultime qualità vengono esaltate se abbinate alla menta. La crema per i piedi contenente mentolo e
canfora applicata la sera, o dopo un trattamento podologico, dona una piacevole sensazione di freschezza e rilassamento.
Menthol is the most important mint constituent (Menta piperita l.). It has rubificient properties – it attracts blood, giving redness – it
isn’t toxic and is considered as a disinfectant and local anesthetic. Camphor is a waxy substance with a strong aromatic component.
It is mainly extracted from Cinnamomum camphora wood, a big evergreen tree. In cosmetics, it is used in particular in foot creams
thanks to its stimulating, anti-fatigue, refreshing and deodorant properties, which are enhanced by mint. A foot cream with menthol
and camphor applied in the evening or after podiatry treatments instantly gives a sensation of freshness and relief.
