Lindb. published from <strong>Romania</strong>, Cernei Valley, sub C.marchantioides (Müller 1954:404, fig.93), was not included in the list <strong>of</strong> Mihai G. (1983) or theannotations <strong>of</strong> Dihoru G. from 1986.14 Frullania parvistipula Steph. was recently published from <strong>Romania</strong>, Cheile Mari aleDâmboviţei, Argeş County, leg. & det. Ştefănuţ S., conf. Schumacker R. [BUCA B943, B944] (Ştefănuţ2004c:110-111).15 Jungermannia borealis Damsh. et Váňa was cited by Schumacker & Váňa (2000:70) <strong>and</strong>Söderström, Urmi & Váňa (2002:19), mentioned from <strong>Romania</strong> only under J. karl-muelleri Grolle (MihaiG. 1983:32; Dihoru G. 2001a:128), part <strong>of</strong> this being synonym also with J. pumila With.16 Jungermannia subulata A. Evans was published from <strong>Romania</strong>, Harghita County, Vlăhiţa [W](Grolle & Váňa 1969:312) <strong>and</strong> from Alba County, Valea Lungă (Grolle & Váňa 1969:312; Váňa1973b:406), not included in the list <strong>of</strong> Mihai G. (1983) or the annotations <strong>of</strong> Dihoru G from 1986.17 Leiocolea bantriensis (Hook.) Jörg. subsp. wallfischii Ştefănuţ, subsp. nov. was collected in 2005<strong>and</strong> 2006 from the Lăptici Peatbog, Bucegi Natural Park.18 Lophozia opacifolia Culm. ex Meyl. was recently published as new species for <strong>Romania</strong>, fromthe Bucegi Mountains, Hornul Mare, Braşov County, leg. & det. Ştefănuţ S., conf. T.L. Blockeel [BUCAB945] (Ştefănuţ 2004a:63).19 Lophozia silvicola H. Buch - <strong>Romania</strong>, in forest, without localization, 07.1900, leg. Schmidt A.[LE] (Bakalin 2005; Söderström, Urmi & Váňa 2007:324);20 <strong>The</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> the species Lunularia cruciata (L.) Lindb. at Grota cu Aburi, Caraş-SeverinCounty, the only place where the species can be found in nature, was confirmed by us in 2004 [BUCAB2970, B2971].21 Marchantia polymorpha L. subsp. montivagans Bischl. et Boisselier was published from<strong>Romania</strong> as Marchantia polymorpha L. var. alpestris Nees or M. alpestris Nees.22 Marsupella commutata (Limpr.) Bernet was published recently as new species for <strong>Romania</strong>,from the shore <strong>of</strong> Lake Urlea, Făgăraş Mountains, leg. & det. Ştefănuţ S., conf. T.L. Blockeel [BUCAB947] (Ştefănuţ 2004e:306) <strong>and</strong> Baba Mare Mountain, Bucegi Massif, leg. & det. Ştefănuţ S. (Ştefănuţ2007a:103).23 Pallavicinia lyellii (Hook.) Carruth. was published recently as new species for <strong>Romania</strong>, fromArpaşu de Sus, Sibiu County [BUCA B931] (Ştefănuţ 2003a:71-78).24 Riccia canaliculata H<strong>of</strong>fm. was not included in the 2004 list (Ştefănuţ 2004d), but it wasidentified in the paper <strong>of</strong> Simonkai L. (1893:359), mentioned from Arad County, under „Ricciella fluitansvar. canaliculata H<strong>of</strong>fm.”.25 Riccia cavernosa H<strong>of</strong>fm. was not included in the 2004 list (Ştefănuţ 2004d), but it was identifiedin the paper <strong>of</strong> Schuster R.M. (1992b:487-489), who mentioned that R. crystallina auct., non L. emend.Raddi, from the papers <strong>of</strong> Warnstorf C. (1903) <strong>and</strong> Müller K. (1906-1911; 1954), belong to the species R.cavernosa. We considered that the species published under R. crystallina L., from Ostrovul MoldovaVeche, Caraş Severin County, might be R. crystallina L. emend. Raddi (Ştefureac & Mihai 1967:14), <strong>and</strong>all citations published under R. crystallina L. are referring to R. cavernosa.26It is possible that all species cited under Riccia crystallina L. are actually R. cavernosa.27 Scapania brevicaulis Taylor (published by Ştefureac T. under Scapania degenii Schiffn. ex Müll.Frib.) (Ştefureac 1958a:109).28 Scapania compacta (Roth) Dumort. was published by Mohan G. from Ciucaş Mountains,Zăganul Mountain, Roşu Mountain <strong>and</strong> the valley <strong>of</strong> the Ursului brook (Mohan 1990b:42), <strong>and</strong> from theD<strong>of</strong>tana Valley <strong>and</strong> Păltinoasei Valley, Prahova County [PHHM 7783/3873](Mohan 1971a:9; Mohan1988b:107). Later, the liverwort was excluded from the List <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hornwort</strong>s <strong>and</strong> <strong>Liverwort</strong>s from <strong>Romania</strong>(Plămadă & Dumitru 1998b:68; Söderström, Urmi & Váňa 2002:32; Dihoru G. 2004:169; Ştefănuţ2004d:38). In 2006 I checked the herbarium samples from the Museum <strong>of</strong> Natural Sciences from Ploieşti<strong>and</strong> found no specimens <strong>of</strong> this species!29 Scapania crassiretis Bryhn, excluded from the List <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hornwort</strong>s <strong>and</strong> <strong>Liverwort</strong>s from <strong>Romania</strong>(Ştefănuţ 2004d:38), was reintroduced following the consultation <strong>of</strong> the paper written by Loitlesberger K.(1898), who cited the species from the Făgăraş Mountains, Negoiu Peak, alt. 2200 m.30 Scapania cuspiduligera (Nees) Müll. Frib. is cited from <strong>Romania</strong> by Müller K. (Müller1957:934) <strong>and</strong> Schuster R.M. (Schuster 1974:355) from the Transylvanian Alps, probably afterLoitlesberger K. <strong>and</strong> Pax F., under S. rupestris Dumort., from the Bucegi Mountains, but synonym with S.30
