le sembianze dei tipici<br />
manieri federiciani e nel castello<br />
dimora anche l’Imperatore<br />
svevo Federico II. Nel XV Viggianello<br />
è feudo della famiglia<br />
dei Sanseverino, per poi passare<br />
in mano ai Della Ratta.<br />
Viggianello partecipa attivamente<br />
alle fasi dell’Unità d’Italia<br />
ed è teatro di scontro fra<br />
briganti ed esercito piemontese.<br />
Il patrimonio culturale<br />
Al visitatore non può sfuggire<br />
la suggestiva posizione del paese,<br />
abbarbicato com’è, con le<br />
case disposte a gradinate, sul<br />
verde declivio del monte Serra,<br />
dominato dai resti del castello<br />
feudale e con il suo centro storico<br />
attraversato da affascinanti<br />
