Refrigeration Technologies Modular Flexibility from Haier LG unveils eco bottom-freezer by Gary Smith With an overall energy rating of A+, the Haier MyZone’s flexible compartment can also be completely switched off to save energy when not in use. Longer-life LED tower lighting also makes the product more energy efficient. The MyZone compartment’s interior is also modular to maximise storage space – allowing for the use of two drawers, one drawer or no drawer. The compartment can be set to between +5°C and -18°C allowing genuine flexibility in terms of the state in which foods come out. For example if ice cream is too hard, set the temperature to -6 or -7C for immediate “eatability”. The MySpace is available in a mirror glass door finish, in red, black, white and silver, and at just over 60cm wide, it is a perfect fit in standard-size kitchens. by Gary Smith LG Electronics has unveiled its latest A+++ two-door bottom-freezer at IFA — the first refrigerator with a capacity of more than 350 litres to achieve this rating in the EU. Energy saved using LG’s Linear Compressor technology is used to circulate the air-flow system, keeping the inside of the refrigerator ventilated, which in turn has a positive effect on the food inside. The Linear Compressor minimises mechanical loss and, with the extra energy reserved for other functions, it delivers up to 50% in energy savings. Young-ha Lee, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Appliance Company, said: “Because they are switched on all day, fridges can use up a lot of energy, which is why the A+++ energy rating on our 385-litre bottom freezer is such an important step forward.” Hall 3.1 Stand 103 The Haier Myzone Hall 1.1 Stand 103 LG’s A+++ bottom-freezer: “an important step forward” ADVERTORIAL BRITA Water Technology A real benefit for manufacturers of kitchen appliances Manufacturers of domestic appliances are always on the lookout for product innovations to satisfy the changing demands of discerning consumers.
