KANE Continued

KANE Continued 2020, testing and production were carried out with the newly acquired equipment. Collins (Kane Hardwood) is thankful to all of its employees and all of its local contractors that helped make this happen, according to a company spokesperson. “This is a big win for improving the overall quality of our grade lumber and delivering to our customers exactly what they are looking for,” the spokesperson added. The sorter-stacker combination enhances the alreadyin-place machinery. Kane operates a sawmill that contains two primary breakdown centers, a Filer and Stohl headrig, and a TS Manufacturing C-Frame twinband mill for smaller dimension logs. Those machine centers feed a TMT Combination Board Edger/Curve sawing 8-inch gang with Nelson Brothers scanning. Grade logs are processed by the Headrig and Salem Horizontal Resaw. All lumber is rough graded. A Lucidyne Grademark reader hands off trim solutions and bin assignments via PLC. Key personnel at Kane include: Bryan Stahli (maintenance superintendent), Todd Laitinen (engineer for the Rick Engebretsen P.O.
