The Cedar Summit’s business sessions were attended by about 150 industry professionals from all over North America. The Cedar grading school turnout included about 60 attendees, which is an important service, particularly for industry newcomers. The Cedar Summit kicked off with a golf tournament held at the Cordova Bay Golf Course. The winning team with a score of 64 consisted of Brandon Kump, Christopher Buffaloe and Adam Hazelwood. Marc Saracco, NAWLA executive director, opened the meeting. He was followed by guest speakers who addressed various aspects of the lumber industry. The scheduled guest speakers included: Jennifer Cover, executive director, WoodWorks USA-Wood Products Council; Russ Taylor, managing director, Forest Economic Advisors-Canof 66. One team consisted of Mark Rutledge, Brent Brownmiller, Scott Lindsay and Max Aulinger. The other team included Darrell Eklund, Ryan Walters, Jim Bambach and Rick Middleton.
