2021 PURCHASING PLANS Continued There is going to have to be an equilibrium where the prevailing market prices make it worthwhile for the green mills to produce enough lumber to support demand. The upcoming year will be a sellers' market for sure. There are just too many alternatives to Hardwood lumber to not have what the customers want, when they want it. We live in a world where you can order anything you want within a click on your phone. I’m sure things will be different in the coming year. At least I hope they will. Factors will be demand, availability, the economy, and new trends. mouldings slowing yearly. Lumber and plywood are selling, but mouldings are not something to put in new in Red Oak. They may replace, but not start new. In 2020, Poplar has always been a good seller. Also, Walnut and White Oak in the last couple of years, and this was not different. Having said that, our overall business has remained steady and purchase volumes actually increased in the second half of 2020. With the pandemic, people’s priorities changed, and we’ve seen a surge in millwork sales going towards home renovation projects, as well as new construction due to low interest rates. Folks are also upgrading the exteriors of their homes, so we’ve seen Hardwood decking and cladding increase in volume as well.
