Through distribution our lumber products are going into appearance grade applications such as furniture, cabinet and panel manufacturers. “Like Alder, Pacific Coast Maple has no heart and sapwood color differences, which make it an unusual kind of Maple. Our group produces approximately 4 million board feet of Maple per year.” From a marketing standpoint Wilson said the Cascade Hardwood Group has four salesmen that market the various lumber products the two mills manufacture. “Jeff Lockey handles all of our export markets along with the Pacific Northwest region,” he explained. “Marlin Langworthy handles the Great Lakes region, along with the Rocky Mountain. I handle some export and the Southwest territory. Currently I’m transitioning the Texas, Oklahoma, and Central- South markets to a new salesman, Anthony Walker. Sam Stenerson is our newest salesman and will soon be working with our California customers. “It’s important for us to produce a broad range of products because people depend on us for Alder lumber,” Wilson continued.
