Praktiskā nozīmība1. Promocijas darbā veikto pētījumu rezultāti sniedz iespēju analizēt, cikikdienā būtiskas ir acs optiskās nepilnības. Iegūtās zināšanas par redzes sistēmasadaptācijas procesiem sniedz iespēju prognozēt, cik lielā mērā aberācijas jākoriģē.Vernjē asuma pētījumi apliecina, ka aberāciju radīto apmiglojumu redzes sistēmair iemācījusies izmantot savā labā specifisku redzes funkciju nodrošināšanai.2. Aberāciju simulācijas eksperimenti pierāda, ka, izmantojot datorprogrammas, kas automātiski analizē tīklenes attēlus, ir jāņem vērā aberāciju efekti. Ja oftalmologarīcībā ir aberometrs, tad tīklenes attēlus iespējams apstrādāt matemātiski, neitralizējot aberāciju efektus un to ietekmi uz tīklenes struktūru redzamo formu.3. Precīzai aberāciju mērīšanai/korekcijai nepieciešama rūpīga adaptīvās optikassistēmas kalibrācija. Kalibrācijai bieži tiek izmantotas fāzu plāksnītes, kamir noteikts optiskais stiprums un aberāciju struktūra. Promocijas darbā parādīts,ka šādas plāksnītes iespējams izgatavot, izmantojot ļoti vienkāršu bināro spožumaskalas masku un nav nepieciešamas sarežģītas litogrāfijas metodes.56
