the official veterinary authority of the Republic of South Africa, certify that the horse semen described in<br />

section A:<br />

1. was collected from donors residing at recognised studs, free from veterinary restrictions.<br />

2. The donor stallions:<br />

2,1 Were kept on site at the stud concerned for a period of at least 6 months prior to collection of<br />

the semen and that during that time no cases of dourine were reported.<br />

2.2 Were tested for dourine with negative results within two months prior to collection of semen<br />

2.3 At the time of semen collection, the donor stallion was in possession of a valid Contagious Equine<br />

Metritis (CEM) clearance certificate (not older than 6 months) from the Equine Research<br />

Centre, University of Pretoria<br />

2.4 Were examined by a veterinarian within 21 days of semen collection and found to be clinically<br />

healthy and free from communicable diseases to which the species is susceptible.<br />

3. The consignment was adequately, securely and hygienically packed in clean containers, and the<br />
