4. De rol van <strong>de</strong> belanghebben<strong>de</strong>n<br />

1. Het K<strong>in</strong>d<br />

Het k<strong>in</strong>d heeft niet alleen rechten, het heeft ook bepaal<strong>de</strong> plichten wanneer het aan<br />

sport doet. Ierland staat op dit gebied al zeer ver, het stel<strong>de</strong> een algemene “Co<strong>de</strong> of<br />

Ethics for Children’s <strong>Sport</strong>” op die gevolgd word door meer<strong>de</strong>re nationale fe<strong>de</strong>raties <strong>in</strong><br />

het land. Hieron<strong>de</strong>r v<strong>in</strong>dt u <strong>de</strong> toepass<strong>in</strong>g van <strong>de</strong>ze “Co<strong>de</strong> of Ethics” <strong>voor</strong> jonge<br />

spelers bij <strong>de</strong> badm<strong>in</strong>tonfe<strong>de</strong>ratie.<br />

Junior Members.<br />

Badm<strong>in</strong>ton Ireland wishes to provi<strong>de</strong> the best possible environment for all our junior<br />

members. Young people <strong>de</strong>serve to be given enjoyable, safe sport<strong>in</strong>g opportunities, free<br />

of abuse of any k<strong>in</strong>d. Young participants have rights, which must be respected, and<br />

responsibilities that they must accept <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the responsibility of treat<strong>in</strong>g sports<br />

lea<strong>de</strong>rs and other participants with fairness and respect.<br />

Young players are entitled to:<br />

Be listened to.<br />

Be believed.<br />

Be safe and to feel safe.<br />

Be treated with dignity, sensitivity and<br />

respect.<br />

Be happy, have fun and enjoy sport<br />

Experience competition at a level at which<br />

they feel comfortable<br />

Make compla<strong>in</strong>ts and have them <strong>de</strong>alt with<br />

Get help aga<strong>in</strong>st bullies<br />

Say No<br />

To protect their own bodies<br />

Confi<strong>de</strong>ntiality<br />

Young players should always:<br />

Treat <strong>Sport</strong>s Lea<strong>de</strong>rs (Coaches, Managers,<br />

Selectors, Adm<strong>in</strong>istrators and other helpers)<br />

with respect.<br />

Play fairly at all times, do their best<br />

Respect team members, even when th<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

go wrong<br />

Respect opponents, be gracious <strong>in</strong> <strong>de</strong>feat<br />

Abi<strong>de</strong> by the rules set down by team<br />

managers when travell<strong>in</strong>g to away events.<br />

Behave <strong>in</strong> a manner that avoids br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

sport of Badm<strong>in</strong>ton <strong>in</strong>to disrepute<br />

Talk to the club children’s officer or other<br />

<strong>de</strong>signated person if they have any<br />

problems.<br />

Young players should never:<br />

Cheat<br />

Use violence or physical contact that is not<br />

allowed with<strong>in</strong> the rules<br />

Shout or argue with officials, coaches,<br />

selectors, team mates or opponents<br />

Harm team members, opponents, or their<br />

property<br />

Bully or use bully<strong>in</strong>g tactics to isolate<br />

another player<br />

Use unfair or bully<strong>in</strong>g tactics to ga<strong>in</strong><br />

advantage<br />

Take banned substances<br />

Keep <strong>in</strong>formation secret, especially if they<br />

or others have been caused harm.<br />

Tell lies about other adults / young people<br />

Spread rumours
