Wat Verder Ter Tafel Komt<br />
d<strong>is</strong>cussions. Normally, the <strong>te</strong>achers will divide us into several groups. We<br />
need to have a good cooperation with each other and work on the projects<br />
together. However, I also came across some difficulties in my study,<br />
especially the first few weeks. I had many problems in understanding the<br />
lectures and reading the books in Engl<strong>is</strong>h because of the new notations and<br />
new Engl<strong>is</strong>h words. Now I have got used to it.<br />

Sometimes I feel some homesick. Fortuna<strong>te</strong>ly, it <strong>is</strong> our <strong>Taveres</strong> giving me a<br />
sense of family feeling. By at<strong>te</strong>nding the activities, I am making good<br />
progress on my table <strong>te</strong>nn<strong>is</strong> skills, understand more about Dutch culture and<br />
make more Dutch friends. My favori<strong>te</strong> session <strong>is</strong> the drink af<strong>te</strong>r the training<br />
and competition, when we can chat with each other and understand more<br />
about each other. Generally speaking, the people here are very kind.<br />
However, I have also experienced some embarrassment about the language.<br />
Dutch <strong>is</strong> the native language here and it <strong>is</strong> difficult for us foreign students.<br />
Last month I have at<strong>te</strong>nded a table <strong>te</strong>nn<strong>is</strong> competition with JCF club. The<br />
match <strong>is</strong> so <strong>te</strong>nse that we were fully concentra<strong>te</strong>d. The result of the first two<br />
games <strong>is</strong> 1:1. During the 3 rd game, my competitor suddenly reques<strong>te</strong>d the<br />
umpire to use Dutch only for all the judgments. Though I had no idea at all<br />
about what was going on, I did not request for Engl<strong>is</strong>h translation, because I<br />
did not want to convert the friendly game to a type of serious. Previously, I<br />
always consider Dutch people are the most open in the world. However, I<br />
have different experience th<strong>is</strong> time that they should pay more at<strong>te</strong>ntion to<br />
globalization.<br />
Troubles<br />
Before I came to the Netherlands, I always considered<br />
Europe <strong>is</strong> the safest countries in the world. However,<br />
last week, all the bicycles in my street gone, mine<br />
included. Now I have to walk everyday. I m<strong>is</strong>s my<br />
bike very much and I couldn’t accept th<strong>is</strong> kind of fact:<br />
the bike was stolen from my priva<strong>te</strong> garden!<br />
Well, I have made many friends here. I am making<br />
progress in both my studying and language. I am<br />
more confident.<br />
