Word of Welcome
Welcome, dear player in our tournament, to Eindhoven for the 31 st
edition of the International Table Tennis Tournament. It’s great to
have you all here, and we hope you have a great time as well. This
year we have participants from the Netherlands, France, Germany,
Poland and the Czech Republic. In addition there is one team from
Falconsworth, which is apparently located in the UK.
As usual we will have the team tournament on Saturday, while the
singles tournament will be on Sunday. So you don’t have to feel guilty
towards your partner if you party a bit too hard on Saturday! On
Friday of course we expect everyone in bed on time, and not exploring
Eindhoven’s many bars and delicious beer into the wee hours.
Some announcements and stuff to keep in mind: the party on Saturday
will be in a new location this year, ‘t Pandje in the Dommelstraat. You
can find a map further on in this booklet. Also, unfortunately it is not
allowed to barbecue on the campground this year. The fire department
will enforce this, so please don’t try to break this rule.
If you have any questions during the weekend, ask someone from the
organization, whom you can recognize by their blue shirts. Of course
an ITT shirt is also available to everyone; for participants we have
green shirts. These can be bought at the information desk (where you
also got this booklet).
If you’re making a report of this tournament for your club’s newsletter
or something else, be sure to e-mail it to us (itt@taveres.nl) as well so
we can use it for next years booklet! Finally, I’d like to thank
everyone who’s helping in organizing this tournament, and of course
all our participants. We hope you have a great weekend!

T-shirts
This year our shirts have been designed by the world famous new
original designer Mark. Probably next year we won’t be able to
contract him, so be quick, be fast, be superman… The shirt is
available in sizes S, M, L, XL, XXL. It can be gained at the
information desk at the entrance of the sports centre for the small price
of € 5,- Like all good things, the stock of these is limited. Last year all
T-shirts were sold, so be sure to be fast enough to get one!

Tournament Rules
The International Table tennis Tournament is a special tournament,
since every competitor has a chance to reach the main final. Like last
years, we’ve accepted 256 men and carefully selected 50 ladies to the
tournament. Especially for the men tournament, this means we have to
work with a very large and tight scheme, so please read these rules
carefully and be in time at your table to avoid delays.
On Saturday we start with the team tournament and on Sunday the
individual matches will be played. Both days the tournament starts at
9h30. You can get your personal scheme at the information desk from
about 9h00.
SATURDAY
Ladies team tournament
On the first day there will be team tournaments for ladies. A team
consists of two persons. The best players of each team are to play
against each other just like the other two players. If one team wins
both individual matches they have won with 2-0. In this case, the
doubles match should not be played anymore! Only at a 1-1 score,
so both teams have won one individual match, the doubles match has
to be played. All matches will be played best of five to 11. The
scheme is roughly described below.
The ladies teams play in a group (sounds good!). Like in the men team
tournament the matches have to be stopped after reaching 2-0, in that
case the doubles match shouldn't be played. The final ranking in the
group will decide if you go on to the main or the consolation
tournament. In both the main and consolation round a new group will
be played. After this group the knockout phase with the semi-finals
will start. The finals will be finished at about 17h15. As always the
organisation thinks it’s the best to let the ladies play in front of them,
so they can keep an eye on them ;-).

Men team tournament
On the first day there will be team tournaments for men. A team
consists of two persons. The best players of each team are to play
against each other just like the other two players. In the men team
tournament the teams will start in a group of 4 teams. Each group will
play on two tables, of which the second table is shared with another
group. This means that all four teams can play simultaneously. This
year's scheme of the tournament is different than you are used to. This
year you always have to play the double, also when it is already 2-
0! All matches will be played best of five to 11.
The winner and the second best of the group will play in the main
tournament. Starting with the 1/32-finals the teams will battle for a
place in the final. The other teams will play in the consolation
tournament, also starting with the 1/32-finals and so on till the final.
At about 17h00 the finals are supposed to be finished.
Team Falconsworth has prepared well before going to ITT 2006.

SUNDAY
Men individual tournament
The men individual tournament will start at 9h30 with a group of 4
players. The first and second of each group continue to the main
tournament and the third and fourth to the consolation round. In both
the main and the consolation tournament there will be again played in
groups of 4 persons. This time, only the winner of this group goes on
to the knockout rounds. The tournament will be finished at about
16h30.
Ladies individual tournament
The ladies individual tournament will start in a group of 5 or 6
players. The first, second and third of a group continue to the main
tournament, while the numbers four, five and six go to the consolation
tournament. After that, both main and consolation tournament will
start with the 1/16 finals and so on until the final. The finals will be
finished at about 16.30h.
After the matches on Sunday, the prizes will be awarded to the
winners. We hope you will all have a nice weekend and good luck
with playing table tennis!!

Map
This year we have a new location for our top DJ Tracks. You can do
the animated tour by following the signs, made by painted signs on the
road. Also people from TAVERES will guide you. For adventures
people who want to go on their own, but want a little bit of help you
can use the description below.
Below is the route to this new location ‘t Pandje. First we start at the
sportscentre and we will walk around theTEMA field (camping field),
formally known as the BBQ field. You have to follow the road, it
makes a bend to the left. Keep walking straight at the crossing (immer
gerade aus). At the end you go right and immediately left, at the end
again left and then right. Keep on walking to the bicycle path. Then
you turn right and at the end you keep right (be careful it is going
downhill). The bicycle path is making a bend to the left and you are
going under two tunnels along the river the Dommel. Then you come
to a road again. Look to the left, the right and again to the left. If no
car is coming you can cross the road. After you crossed the road you
go to the right. Keep on walking till you see a big bicycle-parking
place on your left side (if you see the entrance of the railway station
please go back you went to far, keep in mind that the bicycle parking
place will be on your right side now!). If you cross the bicycle-parking
place you are at the Dommelstraat. Go to the right and you will find
café ‘t Pandje at your right side. As soon as you are there, the party
can really start.
This year we provide two maps. One with the route to the party, on
which the sport centre is situated, and another map of the city centre
of Eindhoven. A common place on these maps is the railway station,
so if you can read a map and if the map is correct, you should never
get lost and also you should never loose your eating tickets.

Coupons
Every year some stupid donkeys lose this page. The people of
TAVERES are always very friendly to these losers. But this year they
will have a problem. No tickets means no food! So put this page in
your safe or ask someone who is very good in karate to watch it (we
recommend Mr.Lee, you can ask for him at the information desk).
You will receive one sheet with different squares for the different
meals and drinks. Each time you get a meal or a drink, the right square
will be marked. It's as simple as that! Just do not lose the sheet...

Did you nootje
• The ITT always suffers some kind of delivery problem.
• In the year 2000 the deliveryman of the tables made a terrible
mistake and dropped six tables on the ground.
• In the year 2004 it seems that there won’t be any tables at all.
Just a few weeks before the tournament the organization found a
German company for the delivery of the tables.
• In the year 2005 Posno sports forgot to deliver the balls. Just ten
minutes before the tournament the balls arrived.
• This year it is not allowed to cook hot balls at the new party
location. But we hope Jim will deliver his balls without any
problem.

Every year many people will play at the biggest international
tournament in Eindhoven. But also at the parties there will be a lot of
players.
At the end of the weekend there will be some happy people have won
many matches or have found true love. For those who have laid their
eyes on one or more guys or hot chicks but didn’t dare to ask them we
introduce the possibility to put an advertisement.
Hot Chinese table tennis champion is looking for anything that looks

The first time I saw you was at the ITT-party 2002. You, standing on
the stage in your underwear… I couldn’t take my eyes of your belly

Last year I met you at the party. You were drinking beer and me too.
We didn’t talk but your eyes were talking like book parts. You have
two eyes and mine are blue. ….. I really want to meet you again,
please leave a message for me at the information desk.

Friday, May 9 th
This evening, most participants and companions will arrive in
Eindhoven. As soon as they have found the sports centre, where
everyone will spend the night, the organization committee gives them
a warm welcome. After they have pitched their tents and put away
their belongings it is time to explore the city and relax before the
exciting things awaiting next day. While the participants are enjoying
themselves, the tournament committee starts making the team
tournament schedules.
Saturday, May 10 th
7.30 Time to get up. Peter our DJ from hell will wake you with
some horrible sounds.
8.00-9.30 Breakfast.
9.30 Word of welcome and start of the team tournament. Be in
time!
12.00-14.00 Lunchtime.
15:00 Semi-finals ladies team tournament
16.00 Semi-finals of the men and the final of the ladies team
tournament.
16.30 Final of the men team tournament.
18.00 Dinnertime. Take a look at the map to find your way in
Eindhoven.
21.00-04.00 The big ITT party in the bar ‘t Pandje. We hope you will go

The Party
For the party people 1 among us TAVERES organizes the ITT party on
Saturday evening, DON'T MISS IT!! This year the party will be at a
different place than last year. Also the party will not be the same as
last years as there will be no band this year (unless anyone of you
wants to perform and sing a song. Blowing a tooter is not allowed).
We thought about solving this solution by organizing a Karaoke show.
Unfortunately Selma turned down this marvelous idea. Of course we
had immediately a new idea: a mannetje. Everybody loves this
mannetje, but we even have better offer. The famous DJ Thijs Tracks
will put a record on. The party will start at 21:00 and closes at 3.30am.
Jim will arrive at 22.00 at ‘café ‘t Pandje’ in the Dommelstraat (look
closely at the map).
In order to keep the safety of our guests in mind, we unfortunately had
to cancel the blow show of Karin and her tooter and the even more
dangerous cooking of Martine, formerly known as Martine the
cookingbaker. This year the hot balls of Jim and his ff will be served.
And maybe, if we are lucky he will blow too, no problem! Also a nice
phenomenon is that the drinks at ‘t Pandje are only € 1,00!!

History
What’s a tournament like this without a history! Underneath a few of
the remarkable facts will be presented.
1976 The first tournament. All participants sleep at the homes of
members of Taveres.
1983 A girl from Swansea (UK) is caught by the police with the
bike of her host. The policeman thinks she refuses to speak
Dutch.
1991 The famous ITT-shirts are available for the first time. It is
statistically proven that the proud owners enjoy life more
than the people who do not buy it. It gives you the status of
an international player.
1994 At six o’clock in the morning after the party our treasurer
Bas leaves the AOR, carrying 4000 guilders in his pocket.
At 12 o’clock Bas has still not shown up and our Chairman
Pieter starts getting worried. Bas home was phones, but it
appeared that nobody had seen him and did not open the
door of his room. Where was he? Did he leave for a
Caribbean island? At two o’clock Bas arrives at the sports
centre. He says that he was sleeping in his room very
deeply so he did not hear the knocking his fellow resident
knocking on his door.
1997 While looking at the program booklet, Max (the chairman)
finds out that one member of Taveres is not mentioned in
the ‘Thanks’ section. Therefore he decides to add the name
to all booklets...
2000 Gilbert missed the party, because he fell asleep on Saturday
afternoon.
2002 At the party, Norbert (from Tilburg) is singing on the bar in
his undies.
2005 Marijn was puking in his tent on Sunday morning. After
looking at this outcome he decided to cancel the

tournament. Therefore Falco won the tournament instead of
Marijn.
Joke box
Terence owns a Chinese restaurant, and one day a beautiful Chinese
woman walks in. Terence immediately walks over and asks her out on
a date. She agrees. They go out for a while, and soon, Terence
proposes to her. She says "Yes, but before we do, there's something
you must know. I have never had the sex, but I've read about it."
Terence says that it's not a problem, and they are married.
On their honeymoon, Terence tells his wife that since she's a virgin,
she can choose what they do first. She says "Oh, most honorable
husband. I am honored to be your wife, even though I have never had
sex, but I've read about it. So, I have chosen to have the 69.
Terence looks confused, and after thinking about it, he says, "You
want... the beef and broccoli?"
One day there was a blind man walking down the street and he
smelled oranges, so he bought some fruit.
He smelled some pastries, so he bought some donuts.
Then he walked passed a fish market, took a hard sniff, and said,
"Hello ladies!"
A guy runs into the bar and says, "Quick, pour me 5 shots of your best
scotch." The bartender pours them and the man drinks them as fast as
he can. "Wow that's the fastest I've seen anyone drink," says the
bartender. "Well you'd drink that fast if you had what I had," The man
says "Oh my god," the bartender says, "What do you have?" The man
replies "50 cents."
