2 Safety Notes<br />

The units (power supply unit and camera) correspond<br />

to all required directives of the EU and are therefore<br />

marked with .<br />

WARNING The power supply unit is supplied with<br />

hazardous mains voltage (230 V~).<br />

Leave servicing to skilled personnel<br />

only. Inexpert handling may cause an<br />

electric shock hazard.<br />

Observe in any case the fol lowing items:<br />

● The power supply unit is suitable for indoor use only.<br />

● Protect the units against heat (admissible ambient<br />

temperature range -10 °C to +50 °C) and the power<br />

supply unit additionally against dripping water,<br />

splash water, and high air humidity.<br />

● Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g. drinking<br />

glasses, on the power supply unit.<br />

● The camera housing is watertight according to IP 68,<br />

i. e. maximum water depth 1 m and maximum time of<br />

immersion 2 days.<br />

● The heat being generated in the power supply unit<br />

has to dissipate via air circulation. Therefore the<br />

vents of the housing must not be covered.<br />

● Do not insert anything into the vents! This could<br />

result in electric shock.<br />

● Do not set the power supply unit into operation, and<br />

immediately disconnect the mains plug from the<br />

mains socket if:<br />

1. there is visible damage to the units or to the<br />

mains cable,<br />

2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or similar<br />

accident,<br />

3. there are malfunctions.<br />

The units must in any case be repaired by skilled<br />

personnel.<br />

● A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by<br />

the manufacturer or skilled personnel.<br />

● Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the mains<br />

plug from the mains socket, always seize the plug.<br />

● For cleaning do not use any strong detergents or<br />

chemicals. For the power supply unit only use a dry,<br />

soft cloth.<br />

● No guarantee claims for the units or liability for any<br />

resulting personal damage or material damage will<br />

be accepted if the power supply unit or the camera<br />

is used for other purposes than originally intended, if<br />

it is not correctly connected, operated, or not re -<br />

paired in an expert way.<br />

● Important for U.K. Customers!<br />

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord -<br />

ance with the following code:<br />

green/yellow = earth<br />

blue = neutral<br />

brown = live<br />

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this<br />

appliance may not correspond with the coloured<br />

markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed<br />

as follows:<br />

1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must<br />

be con nected to the terminal in the plug which is<br />

mark ed with the letter E or by the earth symbol<br />

or coloured green or green and yellow.<br />

2. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected<br />

to the terminal which is marked with the<br />

letter N or coloured black.<br />

3. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected<br />

to the terminal which is marked with the<br />

letter L or coloured red.<br />

Warning – This appliance must be earthed!<br />

If the units are to be put out of operation de -<br />

finitively, take them to a local recycling plant<br />

for a disposal which is not harmful to the environment.<br />

3 Applications<br />

The units have especially been designed for the use in<br />

video monitoring systems. The camera is suitable for<br />

infrared light and equipped with an automatic gain control<br />

(AGC) as well as an automatic electronic shutter
